Rafael's red card

The fact that Sian Massey was right next to it and (as MOTD2 pointed out) said "Yellow Card" ... well, that's my case right there.

What made Webb ignore this and decide it was a yellow when he obviously didn't see it and Sian Massey did. :wenger:

I'd be a bit aggrieved if the red mattered - it was rather soft considering he was actually trying to boot the ball not the player directly - just very aggressively.

I didn't realize lino had said to give a yellow to Webb - strange he decided to overrule her, maybe thinking as a statement to show he isn't Pro-United, just with Luiz laughing makes him seem a bit stupid in hindsight

Take a swipe at someone and you get a red, simple as that. :Luiz laughing doesn't bother me as much as some of you guys.

I wish to apoligse to the linesman (lady) - but yellow card at best. Rafael was beaten by 'skill'. Luiz should have been sent off probably for acting like a mug to web and for an attempted elbow

Agreed, the whole situation has been blown out of proportion IMO, kinda like everything these days.

Luiz is a bit of a cnut for what he did but Rafael has no excuses. Needs to keep a cooler head than that. I'm just glad he did it in a relatively meaningless game and it hasn't cost us.

By the rules it is a red card. His timing of the card was not too bad in that it did not cost the game and he will only miss one game that matters.
