His 100th appearance for Manchester United, and he is just 22.

His consistency has been very good this season, another very good performance.

If I'm nitpicking, then his crossing was average in this match.

Seen a few bumped threads following the game today, why not this! What a player Raf is becoming.

Consistent great performances week in week out, gets up and down the line as good as anyone in the league. Fantastic today as he has been all season.

This. Simple.

Fantastic, that's what he's been for us this season. Dare I say our most consistant player? Van Persie might be in with a shout, but damn Rafael has been superb, really nailed down that spot I believe. If he hasn't by now than it's madness.

Because its just expected now that he's gonna have a stormer. Been consistently brilliant all season. He's like a machine down the right

Brilliant again, different class.

However, it'll take just one mistake before the knives are back out for him I reckon.

I will admit that his positioning at times has concerned me. And I thought defensively he was poor at the beginning of the season. But I cannot fault him over the last 6 weeks. He has been hugely improved in all aspects.

Don't know what it is about Rafael but his style annoys the pants off of me. It's not his defending because of course he's still young and he's clearly improving every month but it's how he approaches the game. Rash and careless on the ball as well as off it, a bit like David Luiz I suppose. We're 3-2 up playing keep-ball against 9 men and he decides to play a diagonal ball to nobody and gives it away carelessly, the next time he gets the ball he tries to dribble past two players and again loses the ball despite having at least 3 easy options every time. That's who he is and he will take risks going forward and all but it's annoying all the same. And then it makes me overlook everything else he does...great ball though, well in Rafa.

Our best player in the pitch after RVP (in this game and in this season in general). Happy for him.

He does the opposite for me. Like when he saw Ramires challenge Rooney and came flying in with a tackle of his own to make a point, stuff like that just makes me love him. A great team player and a wonderful footballer to boot.

I'm sure that wasted diagonal pass was Carrick.

Why am I not surprised

Watching him and valencia running down the wing is excellent. I can still seem him getting rotated once Jones and Smalling are back though purely for their height advantage at set pieces.

Just a ball of energy on the pitch. Still makes a few rash challenges but his positioning and awareness has gotten better by the game.

I hope Fergie sticks with him even when Jones/Smalling return.

I'm the same. Absolutely love his style. Fully committed to every minute of every game he plays. Infectious passion and energy. Never shirks responsibilty and is fearless. There was one point in the first half in the middle of the crazy spell where he was standing on the line at a corner goin ballistic at his teammates. Loved it

Rafael surely excites me going forward.
Val atm frustrates me.

Think he is at his best with Tony V in front of him but quality even without, such a fantastic player. His main weakness in past seasons (defensively) was a problem given that's his main job, but he seems to have grown mentally as well as being a lot stronger and quicker. All round he's been fantastic and has shown desire and drive to improve on what shortcoming we may have pointed out in the last few seasons.

Rafa is great and he's only going to get better. He had one needless foul but much more assured than others.

I commented on that to the people I was watching the game with. He's just well in there for his team mates as soon as he can. Sort of like Keane used to do. That big brother mentality.

One of our most consistent and best performers this season. Refreshing to say that a full back is being that kind of player.

I was reminded of that after Ramires brought down Rooney and he hacked Ramries down (even though the whistle had gone).

Also, any excuse to post this

what a player he has turn into, something we expected from him when we saw him breaking into our first team at 18 a few years ago.

Love seeing him running down the wing with the ball. The moment it looks like he is going to take the ball and run at defenders I keep thinking that he will help pull out something that could lead to a chance. Either by playing a one two to release someone in behind or slipping past himself somehow.

How is his brother doing on loan? I would love to see the pair bombing down each wing

I thought he had a good game and linked up well with Valencia and provided good options. Thankfully he has also removed that willingness to dive into a player when they are approaching our box.

Well done thus far, keep it up.

Fabio's been injured. He should be back soon though I think. He started off horribly but then was getting better and used to the new team before the injury.

He was not the only player to give away the ball. Every one makes a mistake atleast in a game.

You cannot expect him to pass perfectly when the players known for their ball keeping and passing skills act panicky.

Isn't Rafael closing in on becoming world class in his position? There aren't many fullbacks that I would consider lighyears ahead of him. He is now consistent, very quick, great one on one defending, positions himself quite well these days and links-up very well with his winger. Also seems to get some assists these days.
