I'm sure Neville would agree that a United supporters do not want to watch home grown shit.

I see you're point, but can you really blame the club? The ones asked to leave (Cleverley, Welbeck) had plenty of opportunities to step up to the level that is required at United.
BUt there is a huge difference between Cleverley and Welbeck. I don't understand how can people compare them. Cleverley had milion of chances in his preffered position and didnt make it and welbeck had to adjust his game to play out wide and played some great stuff always and as a striker he did well as well. Fergie was right when he started him in champions league against Madrid. He was by far our best player and scored. He scored some wonderfull goals but yet he s got a sticker of bad finisher which is untrue. He is not 100% killer but who is Ive seen van Persie and Rooney missing so many sitters lately as well as hernandez and they paly regurarly in their positions. Welbeck proggresed every year since he joined first team and was becoming the essential player for us. He had some injury issues with his knee but he seemed toovercome it and looked after injury much fitter than van Persie and rooney together. There is no reason to think that welbeck is the same story as cleverley.

Again, I see your point mate. However, you've to consider that Wilson got promoted to the first team and going forwards, he'd get the opportunities that would've otherwise fallen to Welbeck. Then you've to consider Blackett stepping up as well. We aren't doing too bad mate.

It's potentially good for Wilson, but he's years behind Welbeck. We've put so much time and effort into developing Welbeck, easing him into the first team and just when we start to get to see the finished product we chuck him in the bin. What's the plan for Wilson, more of the same?

Could someone confirm his wages? Is it £350k? Or more nearer £200k? Basically how is the tax worked out on a loan move?

Apologies if this has already been posted, did it originate on here? made me chuckle anyway.

I think he is, at the end of the day you want a English team to have an English/British core. Granted we have had some poor home grown players lately but i did always have pride that we were trying to do things and i'll get slated for this but i do respect Liverpool for trying to do it in a similar fashion with players who were born on these shores. Also lets not forget the home grown quota...

Winning things is important which is why people might be keen to forget our roots but dont think we should.

That's one opinion. I personally think its a globalised world now and we should be moving past placing any importance on nationality. Is Januzaj any less valuable for being Belgian? I understand wanting to produce players from the academy but that isn't reliable at the very top level (Yet we will continue to bring a few through and give them chances like with Januzaj, Blackett, Wilson). I think the nationality thing is complete bollocks. What difference does it make if we bring an English player in from London or a Portuguese player in from Lisbon? Many of our legends are imports: Cantona, Keane, Schmeichel, Ronaldo. They arent any less worthy for being born across the sea, than if they were born in London.

Theres absolutely zero chance he's getting paid 350k when theres RVP and Rooney on 500k, and he's going to be rotating with them.

Well this isn't really a debate for this thread but I agree with you that Welbeck and Cleverley are different situations. Still, IMO there are only so many spots that you can have for developing youngsters and IMO Wilson is now worth giving opportunities.

How in the world has Falcao gone from 12 million euros to 18 million pounds in salary in 6 hours?? Unfollowed this geezer. Useless.
United don't release such details, so journalist, for the sake of sensation and perhaps retribution for being denied the information, inflate the rumored figures.

every single time we sign someone.

I was at work for the whole day and my friends were texting me non-stop about us signing Falcao. I thought it was a prank by them and tried to resist believing it, but what the feck is this? Did we actually signed Radamel fecking Falcao? That Falcao who was the most complete goalscorer that I have ever seen?

Does anyone know where can I get a Woody poster? I am going to hang a huge one in my room and I'm sure my girlfriend would like it too.

I think it's closer to 200k, he's getting that at Monaco except they don't pay taxes, so he'll either take a pay cut because of the taxes or Monaco will top up his wages. Highly doubt we'll add on just so he gets the same after taxes.

You know what? **** it.

We're signing Falcao.

Kroenke was at the game today to sign off a big deal, Wenger after today sees we need a new striker, the media, fans, pundits are all saying we need a striker.

We'll agree a £40M deal for Falcao tomorrow.

You're right, maybe what i mean is having academy players break into the first team. We've always had a few make the first team and i for one would like that to continue
