If winning against Spurs and Aston Villa is guaranteed for Liverpool, why games against Spurs and Chelsea(not the same Chelsea of Abramovich of yesteryears) not for Newcastle? Newcastle only tough game by following that logic is Arsenal. The rest should be winnable for them. 9 point gap is significant with this only many game left.
Newcastle play about 5 teams that are favoured to go down. Add that to a 9 point cushion and it’s safe to say Liverpool aren’t catching them
Dippers always go on crazy runs in the final couple of months. Still you have to back the team with a 9 point head start with 8 games remaining.
I don’t need to justify it. I’m hoping it won’t happen but this is the best they’ve looked all season, have a fully fit squad, a recent history under Klopp of going on winning runs and a piss easy fixture list. Spurs are still in it according to this place - they’re only 6 points off them with a GIH and still to play them at home.Trying to justify to yourself blowing £20?

As for us, under Ole when we went through a truly abysmal run in in 20/21 when City sealed the league, we got 11 pts in 7 games. The same ppg in our last 8 still see us pipping them even if they manage to win all of their remaining games.

I think their longest win streak this season is 4, and there was the World Cup in the middle of those 4 games so it was basically 2 wins, then a 6 week break then another 2 wins.
And remember all this worrying is off the back of their first win in a month. It's not like they've won 2 or 3 in a row, one win is all it takes to worry people.

Kloppe has never finished outside the top 4 with Liverpool except in his first season in which he replaced Rodgers.

Leceister was 8 point above us with 8 games remaining 3 years ago. Leicester got leapfrogged twice by two teams. Perhaps, it got to do with Brendan Rodger having thing slip off his hand than it's an easy feat?
Two years ago, Liverpool still drew 2 games in their last 7, as great as their 8 win 2 draw in 10 record looks. Stringing 9 win streak (counting this win against Leeds) is something even most title winners at this stage of the season would be proud of.

It's also his first full season without Mane (his good luck charm). I know it's not count the chicken before they hatched, but some stats being used to reinforce the worry is just borderline superstition.

Yeh that's when Leicester collapsed though. I can't see Newcastle doing the same, they're alot more competent and have a 9 point advantage over them.
I thought they were in trouble around the time of the cup final but they've recovered very well.
Villa battered them at the weekend but that can happen and Villa are on current form one of the best teams in the League right now. They'll drop points as will we, as will everyone bar maybe City but a 9 point gap with better GD is a very handy lead at this stage.
Yeh that's exactly it. Newcastle will drop points obviously like you said, but Liverpool will drop more than them no doubt, because they're simply worse this season than them.
Very unlikely Liverpool make top 4. It’s not just the points difference to Newcastle, there’s a lot of traffic in between them too. They’d need several teams to collapse along with them being perfect.
They are very capable of winning all 8 games remaining, and only 3 of the remaining 8 are away so TBF they will likely pick up at least 18 of the 24 points I'd guess. West ham, Leicester and a likely already relegated Southampton away on the last day. 18 points puts them on 65 points, max of 71.
Newcastle needs 15 points from the next 8 to get 71, these games:

Maybe, but it's also a valid concern considering how they finished 3rd two years ago. They lost something like 6 games in a month, then went 10 games unbeaten, getting 26 points. I know I'm using more stats here but yeah Klopp's teams are known for putting in some really good runs at any time. It even happened in his last season with Dortmund.
Liverpool has no chance to make top 4. They are 12 points behind us with same number of games and 9 vs NC. They do have a more balanced games on paper given their historical performances but given their season form, they will be lucky to get 18 points out of 24 left.
And I am sure we will pick up atleast 7 points and NC atleast 10 out of 24 left to play. So for me, Pool has no chance and I would love them to finish in EL.

I just hope we capilize on Spurs and Newcastle's brainfarts by taking another 3 points in our next match. We need to secure top 4 early so we can focus on the other cups we're still in the running for.
I wouldn’t rule it out but it looks unlikely. It would take them suddenly becoming great out of nowhere and Newcastle doing a Leicester. I think Howe will get the job done.

Their remaining fixtures are not that hard. 5 home games. Away games are WH, Saints and Leicester. More or less without injuries and only PL to play.
We can hate them and we can pray that they miss top 4 but they can win all these 8 games.
Spurs i don't count. They are in a mess. We have tough schedule but I don't think that we will miss top4. We need 4 wins and one draw.
Newcastle; i don't trust them. Especially with their schedule. My bet is still Liverpool over Newcastle.

I think United will be fine, however Liverpool could quite easily get 71 points, they have nothing but that to play for. They can focus on 1 game a week and a lot of the teams they are going to play will be on the beach.
Spurs, I can easily see dropping at least 7 points so they would finish on 67 max, Newcastle is a tough one to call, they might bottle it genuinely, let’s say they get 2 points at home to spurs and Arsenal, then lose to Brighton and draw against another team at the bottom fighting. That means they lose 9 points from so 15 from their last 8 games is 71 points. Can’t see Brighton or Villa getting over 70 points, run is too difficult for both.
Don’t get me wrong Liverpool have to be perfect with 8 wins, one draw they probably miss out, 20 points from 24 will not be enough they need 24 maybe 22 but anything other than 7 wins and 1 draw means they will not qualify. Just remember , take Newcastle form at it’s most obvious and they finish with 4 wins and 3 draws and 1 defeat that’s 15 points and that’s 71 total , it means it would to come down to GD with Liverpool.
It’s Simple now for United, we need 13/14 points from 8 games to secure CL football that’s 4 wins 2 draws 2 defeats or 5 wins 3 Defeats, or 3 wins 4 draws 1 defeat, we win the next game against Spurs it’s practically done .
