Newcastle have now a few key players injured, so their below par performances will get worse.
We basically always shit the bed in these situations so we all know what to expect.
If Liverpool beat Everton on Monday and then Newcastle next Saturday, they are only 6 points behind Newcastle with a game in hand (and Newcastle are shite). They will be well in the top 4 race.

Honestly. It would be quite a failure to miss out on top 4 with how some of the other clubs are performing this season.

Yeah, we would only have ourselves to blame at this point. The competition is less than fierce - all we need is Casemiro to stop getting himself stupid cards.
I think Brighton has actually a real chance; they are more coherent than Liverpool and Chelsea, and Newcastle seems to losing momentum. 1 loss in the next 2 games and a loss from us in the final, can be a huge confidence blow for them.
Need united to win tomorrow at any cost plus Everton to beat Liverpool.

I never really believed we were in a title race a few weeks ago despite absolutely loving what EtH has done; it's just still too soon and we don't have the squad depth. Top 4 though is another thing entirely and i'd say we easily have a shot at finishing third or fourth. Wednesday's result is fine provided we win tomorrow. Even another draw wouldn't be catastrophic.

1 win in 6 league games for Newcastle. Goals really drying up for them. They'll be in the race as they are very good defensively so fair play to them, but they've started faltering.
Win tomorrow and we are 5 clear of 4th (played a game more though), 7 clear of Spurs in 5th, 15 clear of Chelsea, 17 clear of Liverpool who will have 3 games in hand though (so could be just 8 there). Basically, as long as we don't collapse, we should be comfortable in 3rd. No use in looking up really either, I think top 2 will be enough clear of us come the end of the season. But a comfortable 3rd place finish and a good cup showing among 3 different cups, that's a great season. Just need to win 1 of them.

We are doing great, but one win in the last four needs to change tomorrow. Let's make third place our own and stay as close to the top two as possible. A trophy and a top three finish would be an excellent first season for ETH. Missing key players tomorrow but Leeds are no good, let's do this.
They are 12 points from 4th with 2 games in hand. And playing with Newcastle next week. I wouldn't write them off.
Despite everything this season, that is still the same team (same midfield and same defence) which finished with 92 points and played CL final only 8 months ago.
If they find their form, they will finish 4th. They are far better team than Spurs and especially Newcastle.

Yep, you only have to look 2 seasons back when they were in a worse position, losing 6 home games in a row and still stormed back to the top 4.
Aided by our goons getting the home game called off when we were in good form, postponed to when we weren't and got smashed!
Newcastle are favourites in that game surely? Problem for them is Newcastle aren’t losing, they’re drawing. So their bad form is still adding on an extra point per game to catch up on
I'd say that Newcastle lack a fair bit of quality too.
Newcastle will have a bit of patchy form to make us think we have an easy game in the final but then they’ll put in the performance of their life’s. Hate playing last when teams have dropped points, more pressure on us to get a victory, I’d rather us play earlier then our rivals and win so then you can enjoy the rest of the weekend watching them drop points.

Great day for us results wise, did not expect Spurs to lose (and lose so heavily) after beating City. Newcastle now have 11 draws but more important - 5 of those came in last 6 games. Their next league game is vs Liverpool (ideally for us ends in a draw imo).

I have no illusion on WW, he is someone equivalent to Inhalo, may be slightly better technique and tactics wise, but the same class. Remember we get him on the cheap, so don't expect a Benzema / Lewandoski class. A decision should be made on Martial, this June whoever the replacement should be much better of course.
Splitting hair on my part, but I don't think WW is on Ighalo level, even the one who loan from Chinese club.
Ighalo had a decent season in PL, before a bad half season for Watford before he moved to Chinese league. Ighalo is always strong in hold up and link up play. Very strong shoulder to shoulder to defender. Ighalo can be a decent mid to lower table PL regular, had he not been tempted by the money.
WW was not that. Burnley bought him for about half the fee they got from Christ Wood sale (which is a very low level PL forward). Weghorst couldn't outperform the Christ Wood bad performance.
I believe someone like Welbeck despite his lack of goal and assist is still level above WW. If we got someone like Welbeck, and he starts in Martial absence, I don't have problem. So IMO, WW is several level below the plan B standar: Giroud, Cavani (first season), Welbeck, Ighalo(19-20) loan.
Kompany didn't like to build his team around Weghorst in the Championship, so WE chose to go to Turkish league so he could play more and go to the World Cup. He's the last resort option for Netherland. Not even the plan B when Memphis was not fit, and Gakpo who is not a true CF had to lead the line. He made huge impact with those goals against Argentina. That should have been his role here too. Not the B plan when Martial out. Rashford should be up top like Gakpo for the time being.
Hope we can get 3 points tomorrow. Would give us some breathing space before the Barcelona tie and League Cup final, with teams around us dropping points.
