Race for top 4 | Finito.

Wish Leicester would do something unexpected and beat Liverpool... sigh

I think we need 72 points assuming Pool wins all their remaining matches. So we need to have 2 wins and a draw..

Just 2 wins for United to get 72 points.

Leicester is exactly the sort of match Liverpool love. They will roll them over by four or five. I’m not even trying to jinx them it’s just a fact.

Surely we can manage 2 more wins from 3?

And if not surely one of Liverpool or Newcastle can feck up enough that it won't matter.

Playing teams who are done for the season is gonna help United. You saw it with wolves intensity.

Fulham and Bournemouth could be the same (as could Chelsea)

Just need 2 wins and it's done. We can lose one but draws do sod all for us, so basically have to go for it.

Newcastle draw is not a good result. They also have to win 2 of their remaining 3. Next is Brighton for them and end the season at Chelsea
They have the big benefit of having a better GD than Pool which we don’t.

You’d be right if it was true.

They were in 4th ahead of Newcastle in March in game week 27. They were only 3 points behind 4th as recent as 5 match weeks ago.

They’ve completely capitulated after being strong candidates for top 4.
We had about three games in hand though.

Guys, relax... Les-tah are getting something against the dippers. I guarantee it.
That's the spirit! Leicester surely will need to fight like hell if they don't want to be relegated.

Absolutely massive win today. I genuinely think it was over if we dropped points.

It's looking more and more likely that it will be us and Liverpool - I can definitely see Newcastle dropping out now, their fixtures are tougher than ours.

I said that i thought Liverpool would win all their remaining games but Leicester are really in a desperate place. They do have some decent attacking talent and I expect them to score against Liverpool ....probably might concede three or four as well :( .

Good result, but it was the game I was least uneasy about because Wolves have worse scoring problems than Utd.

Still, a win after the last couple of results is great and fingers crossed they can grind out two more.

Liverpool only beat them last time due to the two own goals

Liverpool can smash them 10-0 and won't help them one bit, with United winning their game in hand, its basically impossible for Liverpool to get 4th now.

United or Newcastle has to slip up twice now, and they both mostly have a bunch of easy games left, Liverpool picked up form just a couple of games too late.

Liverpool won't win all their remaining games.
Who will they slip up against in your view?

Leicester whom have the 2nd worst home record in the Premier league this season?

Villa getting anything in Anfield? something they haven't done since 2014 (before Klopp was manager)

Already relegated Southampton on the final day of the season and have the worst home record in the league?

Still think we will need two more wins and despite today still not 100% convinced we will get them.

Today was the easiest game and we did what we needed, still think Liverpool will win all three.

Yeah, Liverpool will obviously get three wins from three. We need either two more wins or Newcastle to have a seriously terrible end to the season.

You'd be right if it was true.

Spurs were 1 point ahead of Newcastle while Newcastle had 1 game in hand after game week 27.

Meaning Spurs didn't have top 4 "in their own hands", which is the only point I made.

Once again, you’d be right if it was true. You’ve completely forgot or (ignored) the fact spurs played Newcastle and got tonked by them. Spurs did have it in their own hands. So yeah back to my original point….spurs really have messed it up. And the only point you made was they haven’t been in it since October which you plucked out of thin air.

Get ready for a difficult game against Bournemouth, but if we really go after the game and use Garnaucho and Antony properly we could secure 3 vital points this game is a must win game because it will put incredible pressure on the other two, Liverpool are getting 9 points, Newcastle I think might get 5 or 7, Brighton, Leicester fighting to survive and Chelsea are not easy games and Chelsea at the bridge in the last game of the season may finally produce a performance for their fans, it’s not conceivable for Newcastle to maybe only get 4 points, if the lose or draw to Brighton they will wobble massively!

So six points might get us third place, we should be looking for at least 7 from these 3 games but we are not scoring goals freely so who knows, one Game at a time and right now all our effort should be put on the Bouremouth away game.

Forgot about that.

I stand corrected.

Feck deserving it: we need it badly, however it comes about.

Don't get me wrong, I'll take a scraping ill deserved dodgy 96th min pen in the final game to see us in!

But you can't imagine anyone would have turned down a guaranteed scenario for a champions league spot from this position if offered it in the summer.

Fair play. Spurs were well and truly in with a shout until they lost 4 out of their last 6 premier league games. In particular folding against Bournemouth at home, Liverpool, Newcastle and drawing against us in those last 6 games. They just completely bottled it.

They won't. They've been quite lucky in their run of victories, they haven't been playing great at all.

I disagree. They're really good when they've got nothing to lose. That's how they got this close to su in the first place. We should finish our job clinically and not give people the chance to talk about another Klopp comeback or something.

Good to see Villa get back some winning momentum today going into the Liverpool game.

I still can't shake the feeling one of us or Newcastle is bottling this and Liverpool win 3/3.
I’m quietly confident /hoping Leicester can at least get a draw Monday.
