PSG's potential fire sale: any players of interest?

PSG will also be able to factor in any sales in January2018 as well to balance the books wont they?

Do they really need to have a fire-sale if Qatar are paying for Neymar?

Aurier may be worth taking a chance on.

Matuidi would add depth?
Lucas would give us another inconsistent winger so if we can determine ahead of time which player will go missing between Mkhi, Martial, and Lucas we may be able to rotate effectively.

Wait until the last few days of the window and we could probably take our pick or their players. Draxler would be nice.

Draxler is probably going nowhere, he is higher in the pecking order than both Lucas and Di Maria.

Do they really need to have a fire-sale if Qatar are paying for Neymar?
It's not really necessary to pay for Neymar but it's always useful to let go the players who didn't fit or are surplus to requirements, especially if it means raising some cash and saving wages.

Quick look at their squad suggests all of aurier, matuidi, polish guy, pastore, di maria, jese, lucas, ben harfa and a bunch of academy products could be on the market

They will lose all their depth though.
Depends entirely on their projected revenue, how they plan to sign neymar without breaking FFP, and how much they can make from the sales. Might be they won't sell anyone, might be they will sell all of them

Sacrificing depth for a season makes sense. Plus, barring bad luck with injuries it won't be much of an issue

They will lose all their depth though.
We can sell without losing depth, the squad needs a bit of trimming down.

Here's the PSG roster with in black the players who are staying, in red those who can leave, and blue for the youngsters not expected to have significant minutes.

Keepers:
Trapp
Areola
Descamps

We're good with the numbers, only an upgrade to an elite keeper is possible (but unlikely).

Defenders:
Alves
Meunier
Aurier
Thiago Silva
Marquinhos
Kimpembe
Kurzawa
Berchiche
Georgen

One RB too many, Aurier is on his way out. A 4th CB should join, Juan Foyth is very close.

Midfielders:
Motta
Verratti
Matuidi
Rabiot
Krychowiak
Nkunku
Lo Celso
Pastore
Bernède
Callegari

If both Matuidi and Krychowiak leave one more senior midfielder may be recruited as Nkunku and Lo Celso are still prospects and Pastore plays a lot forward.

Forwards:
Cavani
Draxler
Di Maria
Lucas
Ben Arfa
Jesé

Guedes
Edouard
Bakebeck

If Neymar comes we have too many players here and must sell, especially with Pastore playing more often as a forward than a midfielder. Di Maria shouldn't need to be sold, but if he did he would be an important loss.

Where is the evidence that there will be a fire sale, why would they need to sell?

Like I said in the Moura thread, look at Manchester City:
Have spent less than PSG, make more revenue, have shifted 8 first team squad members so far this summer, soon to be 10 with Iheanacho and Fernando, and have another 5 they will likely lose (Mangala/Nasri/Bony/Denayer/Delph).

PSG have barely got rid of anyone.

An assumption based on the fact they might have to write up €300M(fee+wages) in the accounts for the 2017/18 season. More than half their revenue for 2015/16(and probably 16/17)

They will likely need to cut down expenses and raise extra money in some way

Not sure why people keep posting Veratti.
Barca was his preferred destination, they went to poach him, and now they've lost Neymar.
I honestly think that's put all the mega clubs on notice, basically don't view PSG as a soft touch, and definitely don't go after Veratti, they know exactly how good he is and have him under contract for seasons to come.

Would love to see ADM back he was such a talented player. Think he would appreciate it more this time around and he'd have a lot to prove. Never going to happen though.

Never say never.....Stranger things have happened..!
On paper at least, he would tick so many boxes of what we are currently searching for, and I believe Mourinho would get the real player performing, not the shadow that LvG got.

I'd take Aurier, as he is a ferocious defender, and like a steam train up and down the wing. Great cover and competition for Valencia, and if Verratti happened to become available for any reason, I'd throw everything we have to make that happen.

Think Verrati is even more harder than ADM but would like to see him back at OT if Jose could get his head right. I'm not to bothered about right back as Valencia is awesome but left back is an area we need addressed more urgently.

Lucas is never going to happen since his best Brazilian bud in Neymar is joining him at PSG.

Neymar will want no.11 shirt as it's his trademark, Di Maria currently has it and he will be the one to be most likely sold. No Brazilian is leaving PSG.

A supposed exodus is on the horizon at PSG once/if Neymar arrives. Blaise Matuidi, Angel Di Maria, Lucas, Serge Aurier, Grzegorz Krychowiak, Jese & Hatem Ben Arfa all touted to be available, possibly more?

Anyone you'd like your club to go in for?
It won't happen, but I'd like sort of quite like to see Di Maria have a go at United with a proper boss in charge!

FFP? No team can make more than a £30m loss over a three year period. This will next be assessed at the end of the season i.e. June 2018. UEFA have devised Related Party Transaction rules, whereby if a non football entity, i.e. Qatar Sports investments/Qatar tourist authority funds a transfer and they and the club are funded by the same means, the Qatar government in this instance, then this is treated as though the club paid the funds themselves.

They do need to balance the books, or they will be inevitably in breach of FFP rules. Whether they assess the likely punishment and decide on that basis to proceed as normal, is another matter. They've already had a suspended prosectution for contravention of the rules (from 2014), but that is now spent.

can you imagine if he signs and then they are banned from the CL. they'd do their nuts

feck Di Maria. Wouldn't have him here even for £10m after his last stint.

Haha, no chance of it happening this season as they have until June to present their accounts. They could be banned for 2018/19 or even have a CL title stripped from them should they win it, v unlikely though.

the biggest laugh is they still won't win the CL. even with Neymar they aren't half the team Real Madrid are and don't have half the balls of the likes of Bayern

They can be stripped of their current European title.

They don't have one? If you mean this seasons Champions league then yes, thats what I was saying :)

They do have one, PSG won the Cup Winner's Cup. And the Intertoto but we need to be serious.

funniest thing would be PSG win CL, breach FFP, UEFA revokes their CL win and bans them from CL for 3 years, Neymar tells PSG to flog him off to madrid

PSG finances are in great shape with large benefits and can handle buying Neymar while complying with FFP since no other expenses are needed.

Di Maria is perfect for us.
Had we done the sensible and obvious thing and replaced Sir Alex with Mourinho, then I imagine Di Maria would still have signed and still be a key player for us today.

And we wouldn't have Daley Blind.

FFS United!

Wages? other transfers in the last 3 years? Their finances are obviously nearly unlimited, but the FFP is a test of profitability, more about spening within ones means. £200m and £40m wages a year is a big deal, I would like to see their figures on profitability, especially commercial deals that arent paid for by the qatari government.

Pains me to say it, but I'd take Di Maria back.

LVG clearly the wrong fit for him. Even Depay, who'd worked with him before, failed!

We need pace and creativity. Right now there's not too many available, who we know can deliver to a certain level.

We could certainly do worse.

cant play as WB though which is where Jose does seem to be going with the side.
