Digital PS5 price is better alternative to S and this is coming from someone who is a fan of MS.

Series S should have kept disc drive. Now for 100$ more you can get full next gen device.

Yeah really surprised they got it that cheap tbh! Fair play.

On value vs S - it's all about whether you would be really invested in gamepass as there's huge value there for people whod rather have a big library to dip into and not buy specific games (or only a few)

If you don't care about that and just want to buy the games you want to buy, I agree, PS5DE better.

I'm not sure how the games compare but Sony have PS Now so even if you just want access to a back catalogue of games you can do that with that service. Sony for whatever reason just haven't marketed it or pushed it as hard as MS has done with Gamepass.

Nothing there to convince me I should get a PS5 over a Series X. Nae mind. Digital price is interesting but these fudgers already have too much of a stranglehold on software prices.

Is it really better value if you’re locked in to the PlayStation store? Genuine question. Cd Keys is usually at least a tenner less for games than Xbox store. Suppose it would depend on how many games you buy.

PS Store has great offers on games every month so there's always cheap games to buy (FIFA 20 is £4.19 this month). Plus with PS Plus giving you access to a ton of the best PS4 games from launch day then yeah I'd say it's great value.

You can buy PSN codes off CDkeys for ten quid less. So evens out. That’s what I been doing last few years. So a £55 game on PSN ends up costing me £45.

I see. Someone mentioned codes from elsewhere won’t work on PS5 though. Don’t know if that includes everything

Yeah I know it was just an example.
Not really a good comparison though. Would have to compare new game prices to see if it’s really good value. Assuming you’re definitely locked in to the ps store now like has been mentioned.

I was so close with my price estimates..... XBox SX is toast by the way.

Remember when Microsoft wanted to crack down on second hand/shared games prior to Xbox One launch, and gamers rose up in righteous fury?

Nope. No one does.

Xbox actually brought disc less version first. Not sure what's the big deal with digital only edition. It's cheaper and for people who buy only digital, it's a great deal. For 100$ extra anyway the disc version is available.

MS are in my bad books. I bought an elite controller and straight out of the box the A button is broke! What a joke.

Someone mentioning AC Origins and then me finding out it's 11 quid (not for you PS4 boys) has made me think I might get it. Not played one for donkeys so should be able to put up with any repititiveness for a while.

Is that or Odyssey better?

They must use cheap parts or something. The failure rate on that thing is super high. I got a refund rather than risk another one.
It's an awesome controller. Get another if you still can. You don't even need an A button when you've got 8 paddles.

I'm not payinig £125 for it to be broken out of the box. It's a joke. I expected this thing to last 3 years and it didn't last 3 minutes!

If you paid that much you obviously want it so it’s worth trying to unstick. I hear a toothpick around the edge can fix it, or even just more use. Or just exchange. It’s a pain but worth it

Defo worth it. Best controller I’ve ever used. Shame it’s hit and miss, I’m just glad I was one of the lucky ones!

Yeah mine's been pretty great. Had a bit of an issue with the trigger lock on the left side, so moved it down a notch, which is unnoticable in use. Right side one would've been an issue. I do wish the locks had less flex so they didn't squeek though.
