Er, The Medium has only been on Xbox so far due to the moneyhat and it is actually the Xbox players themselves who have said it isn't worth playing (or paying for at least).

You only have to consider the general responses about Bethesda from people who have posted more times about Elder Scrolls and Fallout on here than United to know what he means

I really don't see how that makes sense. Dolby is pushing both technologies as standards in audio and video. Limiting access to a technology is not exactly how you go about establishing a standard.

Is that a rule now? I mean if you look at both sides here, you won't find much joy.

The football forums have been trash for many years now, and thanks to awarding people who know feck all about what they are talking about (ironically one of the reasons the newbie forums were set up for in the first place), the gaming threads are becoming exactly the same.

There's going to be no winners if it comes down to this place and who talks games against who talks football. Both are going to the lowest rung.

That's not what matters. Money does. Which is why it's so laughable this whole idea of picking one giant company spending ridiculous money over another, yet here we are

There's 0 chance of a Prey sequel or anything given that the game director has since left Arkane.

Overall I don't disagree with the idea that Xbox is closing the gap recently. There literally wasn't a single point at which I wanted an Xbone, but I could see myself getting a Series X at some point down the line, probably when that Obsidian skyrim-looking game releases.

I like the gamepass (on Xbox, NOT PC), I have both that on Xbox and EA play on PC. Yet I've spoken out against both over the years and will continue to do so.

It's because it's about sign ups and where that leads. People talk shit on those who argue and complain via social media and what not, but it still doesn't change the fact that we should be constantly watching what they do and what we pay for. The few examples where word of mouth actually changed plans matter big time, ask EA for example.

But let's not let the same old hype get us carried away eh? After all, think about it and look back at all the fuss around the last 2 console launches...MS were always adamant that they had the new gaming future one way or the other it was always promises and yet no delivery. Sony have continued to act like they are for gamers, yet they have gone full Nintendo with restricting developers/publishers with what they can do, including delaying certification and of course denying crossplay. We are literally picking one corp over another.

At the end of the day it's about the games. And once again, as expected, the PS5 is already ahead with the games whilst the S/X are still all talk. But I'll say again, as I've said before, that I think the X is a brilliantly built machine. But what amazes me about these machines, is that they BOTH still have shit UI and issues they shouldn't have, which people seem to overlook simply because they are used to those particular ecosystems I guess.

Not really sure what your point is here. All I was saying is that there were people who couldn't help but fiend over the latest Bethesda releases on Cafe and sink hours upon hours into repeat play throughs who almost immediately on news on acquisition dismissed Bethesda as being far beyond their sell-by date and nothing of note.

Bethesda may well be past their best, or perhaps they never made that appealed to some and that's all grand. But some of the 180s on here were comical.

than United? Care to expand on that?

And as for comical, you all keep doing 180's. Just look at any discussion now about framerates and resolutions compared to before this new wave on generation press shite.

No I was saying there are people on a United forum who spent more time talking Bethesda games to suddenly saying how shit Bethesda games is.

I've not done 180s about framerates and resolutions.

Yeah, why does the forum suddenly make a difference?

You said what you said, clarify it further and own it or admit you shouldn't bring that stuff up in a joke thread.

I've not done 180s about framerates and resolutions.

But you have done 180s. Kinect for example.

The point isn't to call you out, but more to just be a little more careful with how you say things. No need to bring the football forums into this, we all know there's issues there.

Why not bring it up in a joke thread. I've already clarified it.

* We are on a United forum
* people loved Bethesda so much they spent a lot of time talking about Bethesda on a United forum (more so than about United)
* Suddenly, when news was announced that Xbox were buying Bethesda, those same people didn't care for Bethesda

As I said, those 180s were comical. It is not a big deal but funny and ironic. 'No need to bring the football forums into it' what are you talking about, haha.

Jesus man. You are painful.

As for 180s on Kinect, it didn't pan out and over time I changed my mind on reflection but never denied my previous claims. It's far from the same but feel free to think so.

You work in spin.

You clearly tried to downplay opinions on the opposite side because, and I quote, " from people who have posted more times about Elder Scrolls and Fallout on here than United to know what he means " to you that was an insult that they actually post less about United than they do about Bestheda.

BTW, is that a fact? Can you prove that? I hope for your sake the answer is no and that you made that bit up, you can even still pretend it was a joke. Because it would be even funnier if you don't and try to keep digging a further hole.

Jesus Man.

You are easy.

I could probably prove it if I could be bothered to account for a tongue in cheek statement on a forum that nobody else gives a shit about

Lambs mate I am sure there are people who care and are deeply hurt that I said they post about Bethesda more than United..

(Especially since I post here about games more than the football forum by a ratio of about 50:1. But I'm not the one u-turning ;))

Enjoy your evening pal

You too.

We still need to have a MK8 showdown btw. I've not played in ages, I'm guessing you haven't either. Seems like the best way to settle this ;)

Back to it

Elvis and co you have about 2 weeks to continue your 'but where r the gamez' obsession so you better step it up

Back to it

Figured you'd duck.

I believe the twerps were saying gameplay. Are you definitively saying that in 2 weeks there will be actual gameplay of these "exclusive" (using that term veeeeery loosely) games?

Can you imagine if they didn't show Halo gameplay?

So if I’m going to get myself a new console which is the best one?

Neither, get a PC.

Because despite what the peasants in here think, being part of the master race and actually being able to get benefits of all is befitting of us gaming kings. If you can afford whatever these poor people think is too much, you can also get a gold gaming chair with cup holders and a smug look on your face whilst they suddenly decide to argue about [scoffs] 60-120fps[/scoffs].

Funny thing is, it'll actually be cheaper over time! (But keep that to yourself, better not make the peasants revolt...Elvis is revolting enough as it is...)

Stallion has millions of gamerscore by the way.

Nobody would disagree with that, though the backwards compatibility and free next gen upgrades definitely helped to mitigate launch a little

He's spot on with hardware and features for sure

PS5 would be

Hardware C
Features D
Software C
First-party C

(Maybe 1p goes to B with Ratchet)

I had a top-range PC from 2014 until say 2017, then a decent rig up until I got a Series X at launch. The master race stuff is only really applicable if you have no other responsibilities in life, as a student or otherwise. The games are cheaper, and the graphics better (if you pay the dime), but the time and expense at keeping things updated, dealing with crashes and software issues, trouble shooting etc. It's just so much easier for me to fire up instant-on, quick resume, and be able to play a game on my Series X in 10 seconds. I'm sure it is the same for PlayStation. Simpler, cleaner, slick, and great value for money hardware. Now with gamepass, the software cost is a non-issue for me as well.

Depends how important playing new exclusives are to you. Couple of views from ResetEra's Xbox thread, which is full of people hoping they acquire Sega or WB:

especially when you compare it to the PS5 lineup which is basically Sony's best console launch lineup..........yeah, it's a very massive oof.
Well, my Series X is basically a Game Pass & oldies machine, I don't have a single physical X game yet. The launch is indeed poor.

That said, I don't regret my purchase as I'm saving money thanks to it and I'm optimistic about the 2022/23 first-party wave.

I'd probably suggest taking part in GAME's trade promotion going on now for a Series S, useit as a Game Pass machine then accompany it with a PS5. Best of both worlds, though you can probably afford to get both an X and a PS5 in which case I'd get a PS5 now and a Series X at the tail end off 22/mid 23 when the first party games trickle through.

I was joking mate.

Though I will say the line about "no other responsibilities" is utter bullshit. I have 2 little boys, just got engaged and I'm not exactly rich.

My rig is mostly from 2013, the only thing I've changed in 8 years is the graphics card with I paid £600 for (3070). I run modern games at better than the console equivalents now, plus it's completely backwards compatible and all the games are cheaper.

Despite the common concensus, and doing away from all the jokes for a moment, PC gaming is way more viable than people think and shouldn't even be part of these kinds of threads. But the fact it is is actually a good thing for gamers, as the best things for us all is always choice!
