You really need to stop looking for an anti Microsoft stance in everything it’s a little sad. I haven’t said anything negative about it I just said it’s a great move

You said they could pull it off within a month. Which is weird because they haven’t done that with any gamepass game. So I don’t really need to look for anything because it’s all there.

And have they done that in the past? So why are you searching for negatives in this story. Why can’t you just congratulate the winning team and move on rather than looking for something negative.

I'm not searching for negatives i'm using common sense, sports games like fifa, nfl or MLB 21 are games you play indefinitely until the next one comes out, correct? its not a Gear of War, Alan Wake etc that once you have finished the story the game is done.

So when your hand is forced that you must go multiplatform, what's the best way to get people to buy a brand new franchise on that specific platform feed it to them for a month, couple of months (who knows) then pull it and if they like it and want to play it they will have to purchase it again. That is a win, win for all parties involved

It's not slating anyone, people seem to forget that you are renting the games you do not own them in the case of single player games this is an absolute winner as you can get it boxed off without ever having to purchase it. Sports games depending on how long they stay on the system if you want them you may have to buy them again.

Has there been a precedent yet for a day one game how long it stays on the service, i only seemed to be recycling through pretty old games when i was using it? (ignoring the 1st party games)

Yeah, as people said it had to go multiplat because of the license. It didn't need to be on Gamepass day 1 which is a weird move, but if MS were willing to pay a truck load of cash, and it gains Sony some favour re Bethesda, then might be worth it.

I think Outriders and this are the first big third-party games to go on day 1. The others have generally been indies which tend to stay on a while / indefinitely (where MS has funded a big portion or acted as publisher ofc).

I agree with this but their track record is quite good so far. PES 2020 was up until PES 2021 went up and all the old FIFA/NHL/Madden games are available. The latter though is set by EA I assume rather than Microsoft as it's part of the EA Play list. Football Manager is the weakest as there was some gap between 2020 leaving and 2021 going up.

Away from Sports, one genre I think Gamepass is weak for is RPGs, as these are typically quite long and you can get caught out badly if you download it at the wrong time. From my time using GP, I've seen FFXV and The Witcher 3 leave, which would have sucked if you'd have downloaded either of them just a few weeks before their departure.

Your point about rentals is apt and that's how I think of the service myself. It's nice really as I have a Lovefilm shaped hole in my heart. I played tons of games in the PS3 era when I could just rent them for a few weeks. Granted I was a student but GP is harkening back to such halcyon days - days where I never wanted nor particularly needed to spend £50 on a single title.

Ahh Lovefilm i had 3 years of free game rental from them by signing up for a new account with a slightly new address every 3 months i wonder why they went bust.

I didn’t ask for your life story. You wouldn’t be saying any of this if the losing team made such announcements.

I don’t care for your opinion on gamepass. Do you watch TV? Because you don’t own all the TV content that you watch. Technically you are renting it and they can remove it anytime just like Apple Music or spotify.

I own most of the games on gamepass, but I still think it’s a fantastic service for people who don’t want to pay full price or just drop in and out of gaming. I don’t go searching for negatives like you. This is why the forum is a joke. Everything has to be negative. You post good wholesome news and someone is looking for some weird angle to take. Someone has to play devils advocate on every topic whether it’s from gaming news, United news or even social issues like racism. When Sony put FF7 or Days Gone on ps plus and people were still searching for negatives on why isn’t it the PS5 version or Days gone is on the PS plus collection, which PS4 users don’t have.

I just had to search this thread and saw this gem. This is why I don’t take your opinion on any MS matter seriously. I didn’t need to search for any anti-MS stance in that post because you already admitted it early on in this thread. Thank you very much.

I personally hope the xbox fails miserably, i don't want this gamepass and non ownership of games to become the norm.

xbox also introduced charging to play games you have already purchased online now people who play consoles don't even question it, hope it fails miserably.

I've got a pre order in for a PS5 but not sure i'll take it up when the time arrives, i'm sort of over ever increasing resolutions and textures.

I prefer a clean looking game with great gameplay that runs super smooth 144hz or above.

Graphics have reached a point for me where its pretty irrelevant now.

I admitted i wanted the concept of renting games to fail miserably indeed, sue me

I also want all streaming services Onlive, Playstation Now and whatever googles is called to fail miserably too.

They have been trying to force this upon us for years and whose the market pusher currently!

Classic standard modern day thinking your either one way or the other can't possible hate one thing but appreciate others.

You said Xbox to fail. The proofs there, so why hide? The winning team is here to stay whether you or that negative posting Elvis like it.

Oh and regarding the gamepass issue, I can buy nearly every game on gamepass from the MS store, cd keys, Steam, online retailers or even walking to a physical store. Where’s your criticism of Sony removing stores? Be consistent in your arguments. Now if someone wants to buy PS3 games, they will need to buy them physically or subscribe to PS Now, which majority of PS3 games are not on there. I must have missed your criticism on that.

Of course, with so many scrambling to complete their digital software collections, there’s increased emphasis on PS3’s storefront right now – and it’s not holding up particularly well. The web is absolutely ablaze with users complaining about two very specific errors: 80029509 and 80029721. These codes appear when trying to download software, whether it’s a new purchase or something older from the user’s download list.

Sony appears to be doing a terrible job providing customer support, too, as a large proportion of its staff are trained to deal with PS5 and PS4 problems – and not necessarily PS3 ones. Having read through dozens and dozens of social media postsand forum threads, we’re still yet to find a conclusive answer.

It could be a case that PS3’s servers are simply experiencing unprecedented traffic right now; Sony may have scaled down support for the system over the years, but now there’s been a sudden surge in activity it’s struggling to cope.

And you can’t even buy or download them on the actual store right now before it shuts down. What a shit show by Jim and his boys. I bet it’s Phil Spencers and gamepass fault this is all happening.

This was the case in God of War main story as well. I mean God of opening chests. Most time in the game was spent running around ringing bells to open chests. Then watching a bunch of soap opera characters trying to guilt trip each other over hiding their identities and what not. And finally a bit of combat from time to time with the same enemies as before but in different color this time.

When you create such an enjoyable combat system as they did you should just swarm each map with countless cnuts to beat down and have a lot more different kinds of enemies, instead of having to fight 4-5 same zombies with swords and then spend most of the game looking at empty roads and trees and flowers. Apart from Valkyrie fights most of the other combat never felt interesting.

Huh, I’d have thought it was the most innovative game in the world based off the caf. Who’d a thunk it

Or the reviews or game of the year awards or everyone else who played the game apart from Moby and a few others.
Or it’s been overrated for a long time? Plus hardly anything big has come out in years.

Don't get me wrong. It's still a wonderful experience overall and an absolute must play for anyone. It absolutely deserves all the great reviews and awards it received. I simply personally would have preferred more combat than story telling.

Look at you trying to justify not playing one of the best games of the last decade. Cute.
Just because they tell you it is doesn’t mean you have to think it. Seems to be what keeps happening with ps heads here

Not really, they ps lads play games, past and present, instead of coming on a forum and pretending how great a console is because of some potential games that might be happening.

More silly nonsense with no real substance. Classic PlayStation I guess

Ignore them. One person has a small criticism of their game and they all jump in at once. Pathetic behaviour. He even said the combat was good. It happened with me, when I said the last of us was average. They all tried to jump on me.

They are unable to take criticism and that Jimmy Ryan petition is reaching nearly 1000 signatures because it shows how deluded they are. Jim Ryan putting games on PC is seen as some sort of betrayal by them. Crazy.

Once MS start delivering the good games again. I'll be there via gamepass. But for now.... I'll wait. Hope they change their mind on VR.

God of War was absolutely amazing in my opinion. Easily my favourite game that year.

Sony are the kings at making story driven solo player games, I’d hate for them to change at this point.

Trying to watch the game and reply in here. But yeah Sony are too good.
