I don't doubt that. Just the idea that there are people still storming the front steps of the Lowry.

People are trying to deflect from todays message by trying to make out that fans are targeting the players or staff. Some on here are helping them for some reason.
 
The fact United are worried about sending players home is depressing as feck. Players shouldn't be concerned for their safety.

  1. Play it tomorrow (easiest choice)
  2. Move it to the saturday we have free, but Liverpool have another fixture, by moving that fixture to this midweek
  3. Squeeze one of our games on a day, and shoehorn it in 2 days before hand, compromising all 3 games
Option 3 I think has no chance. Option 2 disrupts a 3rd team. Option 1 makes most sense as the players can just stay in their hotel another day and go again.

I agree that tomorrow is the easiest but sorry it's not a good precedent. They've never asked anyone to play Monday Night Football and then Thursday... especially when we have to fly to Rome - that's the difference to Sat to Tues...

There are United fans contacting Talksport who are very unhappy with the stadium being invaded and the throwing of stuff. They are happy with the protest, but the other stuff is wrong. Suspect some are just there for a showdown with the police.

Souness seems to have forgotten just how the Glazers financed the deal in the place - never understood how they could borrow against the thing they were buying (put very simply, I know)
 
A lot of armchair indignation on Twitter about fans protesting this game, and not Roma on Thursday which does boil my piss.

If they don't understand about how big a statement this is between two of the most famous teams in the world, playing in one of the most famous club matches in the world, I'm not sure they understand football.

It's not ideal pal, but i've had another look, and they can't even move the Liverpool game from the weekend of the 16th May (our free weekend), as they play West Brom, who play tomorrow!

So they either move it tomorrow, or they'll have to cram it in so teams play 3 games in 6 days which would be dreadful.

They can't even move it to the midweek after the last game as the Wed has the europa final.

Exactly. No reasonable person would agree with what those idiots did, like throwing stuff etc. But they were obviously a minority. If it was majority of them then Old Trafford would look completely different from the inside and as we can see it's in a fine state, ready for a game if it was to be played tonight.

How do we know they are concerned for their safety??
Surely it's more to do with Covid bubbles and protocols which have to be followed before every game?!

I think the point he's making is people have been injured today and it's still kicking off at the moment in the area. Both are true unfortunately. Idiots spoiling the genuine message behind the protest by going too far.

Postponement bad for us, now this game will probably happen when Manchester United have sealed their spot, and Liverpool more likely to win after that.

And they have subsided. Some are acting like the Glazers took over the club last month. They have been leeching your club for many years.

Let's not fool ourselves that football fans have out of nowhere developed an increased moral compass that is solely responsible for these protests. I'd wager at least 50% of those at the United, Chelsea and Arsenal protests were there because it was an excuse to be unruly and anti-social and as many of them if not more were fueled by the rage against society atmosphere that has been looming large for a few years now.
 
I am sorry if someone got hurt, but let's lay the facts here.
Glazers knew there will be protest today. They just don't want to put money in. In this case they were hoping that British government would pay for security. Another case of nonivestment from Glazers.

But anybody who has said that this has gone too far today.
just peaceful protest doesnt work on Glazers.

They have taken 1,5 billion pound out of the club
Club still has 500 million pound debt which is all on Glazers
Glazers have not put 1 cent of their own money into the club
During Fergies time under Glazers, Fergie made Glazers profit on transfers.
Carrington and our Academy needs investment
And as we could all see now, Old Trafford needs investment

And the biggest problem is that Glazers dont have money to invest and they WILL NEVER PUT THEIR OWN MONEY INTO THE CLUB. they wont.
Their rules are
1) Dividends for themselves
2) Debt repayments
3) plastering over the cracks
4) bonus payments to Glazer boardmembers for good for that they did last year
5) what is left goes to other boardmembers bonus payments
6) then comes transfers
...
104) investment into the club

sorry, but time is over for peaceful protest. It doesnt work on someone who is not human

Fair enough.

It's seemed the way it was phrased that the claim was there was still a large crowd on the steps or whatever but maybe that was my interpretation.

Hopefully, they can get a handle on the situation and everyone goes home peacefully.

SAT/SUN 15/16 Blank, but Liverpool play West Brom (who have a game tomorrow, so can't move this fixture into the midweek TUE/WED 4/5 MAY
WED 19 MAY Fulham H
SUN 23 MAY Wolves A
WED 26 MAY Europa Final

Looks like it's tomorrow, or they have to do a horrible squeeze of 3 games in 6 days by inching one of these games on a day.

Seriously what a f@ck up - the whole squeezing of this season is ridiculous, which I said when it was first announced. Just saw they can get int the bloody Euros...

If it is tomorrow, it should be an early kick off - 11am or something like that
