Pro Cycling 2018

If you don't like it, then don't warch it. If you're a fan, inevitably you wont stay away long if if at all. feck Prudhomme and the ASO and feck Hainault. Cycling is cleaner than it ever has been.
There are literally no arguments to defend the UCI and Froome in this.

I can’t miss the classics in March/April but will easily give the Tour a pass.

I don't know. Unless they release the expert evidence, how can anyone know? Too many questions need answering. Its not even proven it has a supra-therapeutic benefit, to my knowledge.

Certainly from a therapeutic standpoint taking 20 puffs.of a standard 100mcg inhaler is really not very much. (3 sets of 10 puffs back to back is often given as initial treatment of an acute asthma exacerbation). Of course there are other factors affecting metabolism and it's excretion, so there's that to consider.

Btw not arguing the rules shouldn't be changed and that consistency is lacking, but then the ASOs fight ahiuld be with the UCI and their rules,.not SKY and Froome. Perhaps they should look.at at the current evidence of any link or not of Salbutamol being performance enhancing and then set the reference ranges of permitted use accordingly learning from the Froome case.

The fact it's taken 9 months for an investigation to happen, for something which is deemed serious, is farcical by the UCI.

It's almost like they have taken the last 9 months desperately trying to pin something on him. It's come to a head because the biggest cycle race in the World is about to start.

They should put up or shut up, they chose to shut up because they had nothing on Froome.

Such a mess - the time it has taken to 'resolve', the lack of consistency with previous decisions on breaching the salbutamol threshold, the failure to adhere to the rules in place on proving innocence, the PR disaster of that statement days before the start of the Tour, the expectation that fans have the memories of a goldfish...

Isn't it the other way round? As in it took 9 months for Sky to build a defence and they were happy to spin the time out to allow Froome to continue racing?

The decision was taken now because ASO decided they didn't want him, otherwise the UCI wouldn't have decided in forever.

Fact is, his results were WAY too high (to the point it's impossible to blame it on his asthma anymore), and others deservedly got banned for the same results. He's guilty and should be punished accordingly.

So why didn't they punish him then?

You, or I, are not privy to the report, but if they could have charged him with something, they would have by now.

Because they are an incompetent bunch of retards without any consistency in their decision making, simply favoring the bigger names to make their sport as interesting as possible.

Probably due to kick backs from Sky to the UCI or similar as @RobinLFC has mentioned the UCI did nothing for nine months and it is not for the UCI to find something on Froome it is upto Froome to prove his innocence and if ASO had done nothing then neither had the UCI.

Changes are needed regarding TUI´s, allowed Drugs etc. and if the UCI had used a precedent from other cases with Salbutomol the Froome would have been suspended as was Alessandro Pettachi back in 2007 for a lesser nanogram pro millilitre than Froome.

Salbutamol concentration isn't the most reliable of tests due to the variation of results with each individual - https://www.kent.ac.uk/news/science...roome-and-high-salbutamol-urine-concentration

Lets face it, no one bar UCI and Froome have the complete picture. Until the data is released (which i believe is imminent) then it's impossible to deem him guilty.

Wait for the documents Sky say they'll release in the coming days.

Agreed. I await the release of the evidence with interest.

8 puffs or 20 puffs of a standard 100microgram inhaler , will do sweet FA, especially given the inhalation technique whilst riding a bike!

I dont like those climbers got stuck because mechanical failure or crahses on sprint stages. Its too much sprint stages this year for me. This 1st week just a pass for me mostly apart from closing km.

Sagan so consistent. Amazing. Shame for Gaviria crashing out.

You cant expect they come in 1 piece in such pace from U-turn corner like that. It bound to be accident if they approach it shoulder to shoulder. And we left with many sprint stages in this Tour. Gosh.

Looks like Henrich Haussler went down first , don't know if he touched wheels but feck, he ended up right across the road into the barrier. Gaviria unlucky he had nowhere to go.

Kittel came at around 4 minutes after Sagan, yet, in GC, he's still just at +12 seconds. Why's that? He did have a defect, but got a new bike immediately, and then just strolled slowly to the end.

EDIT: Apologies, it appears it's only like that on cyclingstage.com which I usually use. +4'14'' really.

Nairo is gone. GC rider potential? pfftttttt. He cannot TT properly even when his life depends on it. Just retire already.
GVA on provisional Malliot Jaune

I can't stand BMC, GVA included. Porte for some reason irritates the feck out of me too, especially now he's threatening to do something on GC. Still, I bet he implodes like he usually does when the going gets really tough.:D

Help needed about scoring system.

At around 115 km to go, breakaway group of...7 I believe, got to the sprint line, they weren't fighting, just crossed it normally, but peloton came some 4 minutes later, and there Sagan, Gaviria and some others really gave it a go. I was under the impression that first three or five get points only, but is it a case for top 10? Or even more?

EDIT: AH, there we go.
