Yea but bale won nothing with spurs. It's easy to win when you play for the best team in the world without you.

Spurs was nothing compared to Klopp & Liverpool though.

Klopp's Mane, Firminho, Salah got them in to two CL finals.

Its easy to say - well Bale played for the best team in the world - but ultimately the reason Madrid were the best team in the world was the clutch moments Bale did provide.

The guy has won 5 CL trophies & 3 La Liga's.

Arguably its even because of players like Bale alongside others like Modric that all of a sudden 'made' Zidane a great manager of the world - whilst Salah didnt make Klopp one of the best managers in the world; he already was one of the best managers of the world coming from Dortmund & many did expect Klopp to raise Liverpool back up from the dead.

Im not saying that Salah wasnt the better player - but it is about Salah's stats vs Bales trophies thats why many people bring up Bale's specific games whilst the others bring up Salah's particular seasons.

Easy, this has to be Bale. When they went to head to head in big games there was only one winner.

Bale's peak was less than a year long. Peaks that last for a mere few months shouldn't really be considered as peaks. This thread is irrelevant.

17/18 Salah was obviously better than any version of Bale, the quality and number of goals in the prem and ucl prove it,and he was better at dribbling and linking up play.Bale was better in the air and possibly faster, but nothing else.

Apart from some cr7 madrid seasons, messi at barca and peak suarez,17/18 Salah is the best individual season of any player.

They bought Bale because he was only at spurs,so it was very easy to convince him to move.It would have cost far more to get hold of salah, because he was at lfc, they had klopp and they had just reached a ucl final. You cannot use transfers as a reliable way to gauge a players quality.
Lewandowski? Benzema?

Bale.

Always came up clutch when it mattered.

You wouldn’t see him get ragdolled by Ramos in the biggest game of his career.

Look at how he carried Wales to a semi final. Look at all the huge goals he scored.

Salah is amazing but Bale is another level.

To be fair not having to play against Ramos helped.

Wait, so "if he was as good as Bale, why didn't Madrid break the transfer record for him" was an actual argument?
Ignoring the fact that Bale cost 6 millions more than Cristiano, 4 years later, while by '18 the world record fee was set at 222 millions euros, thanks to PSG...

If we are talking about a peak of talent, Bale, but his prime was inconsistent and didn't last long

For the longevity of prime and overall impact - Salah, even though his peak is not as great as Bale's

But the clutch player is relying on his teammates to get them to that final. Having someone who pops up in a final doesn't happen without players like Salah.
So dont play Bale for a whole season, hope the team get to a ucl final then start him in that final, that sounds like an amazing plan.

Salah's Puskas Goal is the most overrated thing i have ever seen.

Bale was to Madrid what Ole was for United whilst also having Cole, Yorke, Sheringham - a clutch player in a group of great forwards.

I wouldnt call him overrated and i think he is rated fine and personally a level above Neymar.

Salah is not a clutch player however :

Mo Salah has 0 non penalty goals in 14 finals

However his stats are very good and consistent throughout a season.

Do you go for the guy who is consistent but kind of like Kane in a final? Or care for a more clutch player? Again its whats regarded as more important - Trophies vs Personal stats.
How can scoring the most be overrated? Why are you acting like being clutch is only possible in a final?it is possible in any close game, big or small. Why are you pretending that only a final is a big game, that would mean thay no prem game can be considered big enough to count,or that a league cup final is bigger than a ucl final, its nonesense.

We know that kane and salah can score against any defence, but not every game can go a players way.
I donot know what world somebody would need to be from to believe that Kane or Salah could go from scoring for fun in the prem and ucl, against any top team, year in year out,to 'bottling'a final. That is just not true.I donot know exactly where you got 14 finals from, but salah played 5 or 6 for lfc,in one of those he was injured by ramos early on.A bottler does not choose step up to take a ucl final goal then score it.Did cr7 bottle the pen against chelsea in 08 ucl final?is cr 7 not a clutch player because he was none exsistent in ucl finals, euros final and has no world cup knockout stage goals? The answer in no.Plenty of amazing players have a final or even tornament that is a write off.Ronaldinho in the 06 ucl final, and 06 world cup is a perfect example.

17/18 salah scored and created more in the prem and ucl than Bale did in his peak.Salah also showed better dribbling and a better collection of amazing goals, without taking a single penalty or free kick that season. If Bales peak was better than salahs,he did a terrible job of showing it.

I never said scoring the most is overrated. I said his Puskas goal of the season is overrated.

People talk about Kane and how he goes silent for both England and Spurs in finals. Its not a good thing.

CR7 has scored 22 goals in finals by the way, watch a video about it.

I never said Salah was worse than Bale either. Salah's much more consistent throughout a season and his stats are almost double that of Bale's but Bale was a player that would arrive when you need him the most.

If you want a good consistent player throughout a season then easily Salah but if you want to win cups and cup finals then Bale.
