Every time Martial gets the ball, he seems to be surrounded by a couple of CA players.
Feck me having to watch Mata pass and run away for another season will be depressing.
Valencia looks absolutely gassed. And dare I say... he looks like he’s lost some pace

A lackluster first half performance but what you can expect for a preseason game really. Thought we showed some glimpses of good off the ball movement and nice quick passing, but it really needs to be more consistent (hopefully that will come over the next 4 matches). Love the concept of A. Pereira as a deep-lying playmaker and think it can be a nice option against the lesser opponents this season Matic needs a break.
However, I'm not a fan of having Smalling, Bailly, and Shaw in a back 4, all of three tends to get caught out of position quite often.

Shit first half in general. Martial was terrible. Pereira needs to show more.

Their left winger/back whatever he's was completely free for 3-4 times already and his teammates idiotically ignored that simple pass and went on to shoot. We are playing against a crap team, they don't even do the basics or simple passing. Against a better team and we would have been 1 or 2 down already.

Herrera was coached in Athletic Bilbaos high pressure counter attack system under Bielsa and apparently he is anti counter attack.

Good half. CA finished stronger but we had our chances too. Martial looks a bit isolated up top though.

Pretty nothing first half. Shaw has been pretty meh, martial getting involved but bit too isolated and needing to do too much. Mata same as he always does, Herrera sloppy, Pereira seems go have the controlling role and he started well but then lost influence. Mctominay didnt really do anything. Mitchell did nothing.

The first 45 mins of pre-season, with a massively dis-jointed squad, many of whom have never played together and probably only trained together for a matter of 1-2 weeks and already people are moaning.
What are McTominay and Herrera roles? Pereira can't be the sole source of creativity.
