You could dress him up like a fecking care bear and people will still say he looks like a miserable cnut.I guess he doesn't smile enough while speaking.

I like those quotes. He's not putting Chong in the spotlight and proclaiming his greatness but it's clear he rates him and has a plan for him and will not rush the kid. Here's a more balanced view re Chong from Jose. Nothing here that anyone can disagree with.
“Tahith was good,” Jose said. “He came with the intention to show himself and in a moment when we had no strikers on the pitch, after Anthony Martial had left, we needed people to create and have some initiative, which he did.
“The action for the cross which led to the goal was beautiful. He was enthusiastic and he had the confidence to play. Of course, physically he has limitations and when he has one more touch, and that body contact, he loses for everyone. But when he makes the ball move and when he attacks people one against one he has quality. He is a good kid.”
”We have plans to make him [Chong] train the most possible times with us because that increases his evolution. He has to play where he belongs, he has to play in the Academy and he has to work physically because physically is where he’s not ready. Technically he’s very good, tactically he understands the game. He understands his position. From the physical point of view, when the game gets into important situations, he’s in trouble, he’s fragile. He’s a kid, he’s still a kid, the talent is there, the personality is there, the passion, the desire to play, the humility to learn, so it’s a fantastic experience for him if he can play like today 20-25 minutes in every one of these five matches. If during the season, he trains with us and if during the season, he has a couple of occasions to play minutes with us, I don’t know, it depends, especially some cup matches. Of course he’s a good kid and it’s not for today, but for sure, he’s a good kid.”
It's amazing how when you just lift one or two quotes here and there it can come across so negative.
They’re probably full strength, whilst we are not. You can’t expect the kids to jump right in and have a stormerarent they (club America) in exactly opposite shape? 3 days before they start their campaign?
I don't understand jose's comment on Chong's physicality. When I watch him he seems physically dominating.
More informed people here, do you have the same view as jose's on this?
He means that come our first match the only senior attacking players will be Martial, Sanchez, Mata and Pereira since he'll likely play there based on who'll be available then.I haven't seen the match, but I've just watched Jose's press conference on the MU YouTube channel. He say's he has no attackers, yet the same channel has videos of Martial in training. Did Martial not play? He should be the central striker surely if Lukaku, Sanchez, and Rashford aren't with us yet?

Second half? Didn't see anything in the 1st to think he was particularly poor. Was half asleep tho.He did but he was poor
positioning similar to Bailey and Fosu Mensah. Mata is still class on the ball but as a United Fan you seriously have to worry about his engine and stamina in the intensity of the PL to be our first option down the right wing

it is good and an honest opinion from Jose, hope Chong impresses even more and make him think about more than a couple of cup games, he is the same age as Januzaj and Rashford when they got their chance in the first team and did really well. So hope he gets more chances if he impresses regardless of how physical he is nowHere's a more balanced view re Chong from Jose. Nothing here that anyone can disagree with.

Chong was also tracking back and helping his fullback defensively. Someone should ask Mourinho why Mata is a mainstay in the team if physicality is the barometer in which the players are being judged. That guy gets pushed and shrugged off the ball numerous times in a game.I don't understand jose's comment on Chong's physicality. When I watch him he seems physically dominating.

We're missing an entire team of players. Of course he's going to be upset.
Jose is a huge cnut. Most of us are just pretending otherwise because he's currently our cnut.
I guess he doesn't smile enough while speaking.
He did but he was poor
What?Stop projecting
A bit out of shape, was knackered after an hour. And didn’t look that interested.Really poor or? Why did he struggle against this level of oppo if his one on one skills should shine regardless of the team

He was the same last pre-season IIRCWas he the only one? If he is downing tools even when given the opportunities to show something then he needs to feck off. Hopefully not the case but how is he so out of shape in comparison to the rest of the squad.

You're welcome. Thought it might be a good antidote to the Jose bashersGreat stuff here. Thanks for posting
Letting fans around the world watch United in the flesh?Pretty dull affair .Apart from money .What really is the point of flying half way round the world for these games.
