Premier League Not So Festive Season

Why is everyone panicking because of this game? They're obviously expected to win it.

Why everyone expected it?
Wolves only lost against Spurs from the Top 6 and even this game they could have won.

And now Liverpool is completely controling it again. Looks like another clean sheet, crazy.

Because they're a better team? Wolves are good and have had their chances. Could be in it, but I doubt anyone would put their house on them.

Could the tables be turned with us becoming that sleeping giant for 25 years and them fighting it out regularly with city for the title? I remember back in the days on the caf how people smirked at the idea on RAWK that everything would turn to shit for us once Fergie left. We would be in a great place they said, far better prepared.

Nope.

Yep. Still a statement of intent given only Spurs out of the top six have beaten Wolves.

Really interested to see what happens at the Etihad in two weeks. Feels too early in the season to have such a decisive game.

Salah is legit second best player in the world now for me.

Creates as many as he scores. He's everything to that Liverpool team in the final third.

They are winning every single game and they look incredibly strong both offensively and defensively. I said in the summer that there was no way they would be winning the league and I predicted 2nd or 3rd but tonight I have changed my mind, I think they'll win, sadly. They are also incredibly fortunate not having to suffer with injuries even though they usually field the same 11.

They’ll tail off from February onwards. Yeah, it’s not nice to see them top at Christmas but don’t shit yourselves lads.

Robertson was a very reliable and solid signing as well, it's what they need in that fullback position. VVD galvanized the defense and Allison completed the puzzle.
Just think how much we paid for the likes of Andy ,Trent ,Joe,Matip... Klopp had every right to go for VVD and Allison for that huge asking price.

Klopp has been very patient in his transfers,he wasted two Jan windows not buying any player because he had already targeted the players he wanted ..I used to think our owners were stingy

Everyone's counting their chickens here. Long way to go and we all know City are winning tomorrow.

Which I reckon will be their undoing. Injuries will happen and they’ll run out of steam.

We used to laugh at Klop as well.

John Henry is a wonderful owner, but it took him time to understand the football (business) landscape and get the right people throughout the club in both business operations and football operations. His ownership of the Red Sox and Fenway Sports Group are model operations here in the States compared to United's ownership which is much more hands off and fine staying in the background, but they are very supportive in their own ways as well. Both ownership groups are positive and a good thing for the Premier League.

Liverpool's backline weaknesses were very obvious and with any transfers, it was whether or not it was going to work out. But it was fairly easy to improve on Moreno, GKs and at least one CB.

Incredibly lucky?

We have our fair share of injuries,Joe ,Trent ,Matip ,Ox all are out at the moment. But for the first time we have a decent amount of depth, though we are only a couple away from really strained . The only irreplaceable player at the moment look like VVD

If the manage to beat City at the Etihad that's basically that.

In January?

They beat City in the decisive title decider in April 2014 to go 7 points clear with 4 games to go. How did that work out?

We're placing too much on the City-Liverpool game.

In Europe?
I think there's plenty of good CB's in Europe but it's hard to say if there's anyone playing at a higher level. On paper, the likes of Ramos/Varane are better, but Van Dijk is a rock for the #1 in the PL at the moment so it's tough to argue against Van Dijk. Maybe Skriniar is playing at a similar level since he's gotten lots of praise this season but I haven't watched him enough.

Wolves end product has been absolute toilet

They’ve been great at winning the ball back and counter attacking quickly but their final ball has been dire and they can’t shoot for shite

Pool are dependent on their front 3 + Robertson. Injuries to any of the 4 would be very interesting to watch. City don't have that dependency at all as far as i can see. Their best player has been absent for majority of the season and hardly it's made any impact. No way i'm giving the title to Pool in January.

Pathetic “performance” from Wolves. They literally gave up after Liverpool scored and strolled around the pitch for the remainder of the game.

How the heck are Liverpool winning? Wolves totally outplayed them but I guess they have the champions luck.

I wasn't impressed by Liverpool, but they have learnt how to grind out results this season so fair play to them. Wolverhampton bottled some great chances.
