To be honest they got one of the best and most progressive managers out there. Something we still have to do.
And Mourinho is gone, can we start talking about their season more fairly now ? That it's just average or decent at best but nothing extraordinary ? This Arsenal season I had seen loads of time under Wenger.
I respect Pool more than City because they have always been a top team in the PL,unlike City who does not even have recognizable club legends. So Pool winning it would be a better alternative(not the one anyone wants it, but what can be done about the inevitable). I have faith that United will come good in the next 2 years to win the PL and then we can rub it in their faces because we haven't gone decades without winning it. Also doesn't matter how attractive Pool becomes, we are still Manchester United, we will always be an attractive club, especially now that Jose is gone and the club seems to be moving in the right direction.
More to do with the fact that they got one hell of a manager.
Money was less of a factor, the overall quality of the teams was worse, also one reason to be harder for teams to win consecutive titles on England beside the money is that so far since United won 3 on a row if I am not wrong you can't say there is a superteam who is much more dominant than the others. City last season was, but Liverpool is proving they can compete with them.Thanks for understanding
That is a tough question. You would think that money was less of a factor in the 70s and 80s due to less globalisation. Most teams would be made up of players from the same country. There would be a much bigger focus on development back in those days.
Players like Van Dijk would be playing for a team like Ajax in those times, because scouting was not so aggressive with foreign talent back in those days. Talents would gravitate to the top club in their league, rather than going to a foreign league.

True Conte did it, but Guardiola, Klopp and even Pochettino have an advantage, next season Sarri will have to improve the team, Emery don't know if Arsenal can improve much more, depends on the players they can add. Forget Mourinho now, most probably the players are relieved now and the team will improve much more during the season.

Agree that they both will get their chance but on this season and on this season only, I didn't understand the over drooling from some of our fans, just an ordinary season which looked better thanks to us being that shite. Sure they can become better next season, we don't know the future.

Arsenal have a worse squad than ours barring attack. Chelsea is about same, complete with shit strikers. Both Emery and Sarri are keeping their teams where they should be relative to their quality. Mourinho on the other hand has taken us down.

If we can continue in the same vein for the remainder of the season - free-flowing, adventurous, attacking football - Ole will be given a shot at the job full-time I feel.
The new manager bounce may be affecting the players, as you say, but this performance does at least prove they are considerably better than they showed under Jose.

Of course they are. Pogba, Martial, Rashford etc are exciting players, shit even Lukaku is a proven effective goalscorer in other sides. You would have to be properly blind to not think that the terrible atmosphere was limiting the players ability to express themselves. I think your squad has a number of holes but it was never as bad as it was looking, nowhere close. You have players who we know are good in other systems/teams, the one consistency was that they were crap under Mourinho. He lost his head this season completely, and the squad with it.
I think you'll go on a run now, but then the weaknesses in defence/midfield will show and it won't quite be enough when the new manager bounce wears off. You'll play good football though and possibly get to a CL quarter or something, but I don't think the United board will consider that enough.

Keown has been really over the top in this first half. A Utd player could take a shit in the middle of the pitch and he'd claim its due to all the freedom we have since Jose left.
Martial is so good though. Still one of the biggest talents in the league, just hasn't really had a platform to show it with two negative managers.
