Premier League Matchweek 13 November 21 - 23

Yep. Good performance but also a one off in that City were horrible. They seemed distracted / didn't have their heads fully in the game.
But isn't that what opposing fans always say when a hated team wins ? That the opposition were shite ? I agree that their defence looked a shambles but that alone doesn't do justice to the way Coutinho/Lallana and Firmino were tearing them a new one. Never mind 4 or could have been 5 by HT, Hart had a stormer and I don't think he was in any way to blame for any of the goals, which in itself tells a story.

In this case both teams were hated, and one was clearly shite on the day. No neutral (or non-Neutral) would dispute this. Obviously, the scoreline could've been easily inverted if City showed up today.

True, but there is usually some element of truth to it when one team blows out another. I was only watching in bits and pieces but it appeared to me that Liverpool were very good, while City (in particular their defending) were very bad. Those two conclusions aren't mutually exclusive. Similar to us against Arsenal earlier - we were shit, they were great. One team being shit doesn't mitigate the other team playing well, or vice versa.

I must say Everton where fantastic to watch today. We played at a great pace and Lukaku, Barkley an Deulofeu in tandem where so exciting. Barry with another very good performance to prove me and many others wrong also, after his diabolical last season he has really returned to form again.

Are you missing Moyes?

Who was doing that alternative premier league table based on form against the sides you've played?

Is it still going or was it scrapped?

After the opening draw with Watford i would of actually said yes, it looked like he hadn't learnt from last season at all . However Martinez has got the team playing to the levels of his first season again and it has been great to watch and we are now playing at a good tempo. Also what i think people neglect when comparing the two is how well Martinez has done in bring the age of the team down. His faith and how he has handled the likes of Barkley, Stones, Lukaku and Deulofeu plus other has been wonderful.

Good point. You have a very good team in the making.

Not many teams in the world have such a talented quarter as Barkley, Lukaku, Gerard and Stones IMO.

I quite like Martinez.
He seems to give all the cups a good go and his teams play good football.
He attracts good players too.
He has a lot of good qualities, defensive tactics might not be one of them unfortunately.

It won't last though. Deulefeou is temporary and stones will go soon.

I had Harry Kane in my fantasy team every week (most of them as captain) up until that week he scored that hat-trick... and then he went on this run, the cnut

WHat a goal that would have been! Miles offside though ffs

Tottenham are playing pretty much the same way as us. Quite a bit of slow possession. That's what happens when faced with a parked bus. The one difference has been Tottenham have taken shots from edge of or just inside the box.

dembele is playing really well since he got the chance...
