Hard to see anything but a Newcastle win with the respective line ups.

Spurs playing a 25 year old third choice keeper who apparently last went out on loan in May 2021?! Not sure what's going on there as not like they're releasing him end of the season either as he signed a new long term contract just last summer.

Also benching all of Bissouma, Maddison and Son.

Ange wanting to get that fat severance package asap.

He's essentially just a training keeper.

There's been a bug going around the squad and that's why Bissouma and Maddison are on the bench. Dragusin and Gray apparently haven't even trained all week either due to it. Son's been really off form recently and looks tired so probably just being given a rest ahead of the Liverpool cup game.

They have the league cup semi on Wednesday and there has been a bug going around camp so makes sense. They're just very short in terms of the squad right now.

Maddison picking up the virus from Ally Pally I bet.

Training keeper?! I could understand it more if that was Forster in that role as many veteran keepers perform that role e.g. Tom Heaton but the guy is 25/26, has he no ambitions to make a career for himself?

I checked out of curiosity to see who was on the bench behind him and it's a 26 year old keeper who hasn't had a kick in professional football since a loan to the Swedish league three years ago.

These blokes are professional trainers.

Doesn't seem like it. We have another one in Whiteman as well on the bench who is a year older and essentially performs the same role. I guess it's not a bad job.

And probably still picking up £5/10k a week for it.

We'll say 10k a week, multiplied by 52 = £520,000 a year. After tax, what? £250,000/300,000? Quarter of a million a year to kick around with mates every morning. Although it is a short career and I imagine there are very few journeymen keepers spending their whole careers in the Premier League.

That’s what we’re lacking. A brilliant cross, and someone who will put their head on it.

What's this thing these teams do where one of their players hits the ball into the box in the direction of their attacking players

The goal scored by Solanke is what I hope Hojlund can learn to score. Being able to score from a random cross is very important. Every time we put a cross in, it is a free header for opponent defenders

that’s punted at him from close range, and he doesn’t make a movement towards the ball. Nor is joelinton the one who scores the goal.

Quite rightly allowed

Wow. I’m surprised they’ve let that go. I thought they disallow it when it leads to a goal no matter if it’s accidental or not
