Premier League Gameweek 5

Same as last season then. They flattered to deceive despite how far up their backsides the media were.

Very much agreed. I just don't see the mentality or characters in their manager or squad to beat this City team. If they'd have had the VAR decisions we've had against them, Spurs and Brighton they could be below even us at this point.

Dyche almost now as bad as Lampard statistically. I know everyone loves to clown on Lampard, but like Chelsea and United I don't think it matters who the manager is when the rot takes its hold on the club.

Why is Nev so far up arsenals fecking ass?

He is doing what his employer's tell him to - hype up anyone that they can use to at least foster the illusion that there is a competitor to City for the title. Nothing more boring than a one team league and it will eventually result in lower ratings. If United win three in a row, he will be hyping up the Manchester club's battle for the league title.

Yeah, imagine if we’d scored a goal in this game that was chalked off by VAR for offside where the camera angle was nowhere near in-line.

Or if in our last game we had VAR overturn a penalty we’d been awarded.

Oh wait…

We’ve had decisions go against us, as all teams do. We moan about them a bit and then move on. Like United used to.

But since the Wolves game (where the refs did United a huge favour regarding Onana) there’s been more conspiracy theories round here than RAWK, for some reason.

This all stems from the ETH cry. And looking at how its shaping he has successfully fooled many fans and moved fingers to officials which should be pointed at him currently.

Genuinely laughed at this

I did not mean for that! I genuinely don't think United are as bad as even their own supporters are making out right now. My assessment (which I am sure no United supporter cares about) is that since the Sir Alex era the team has never been as good as some people have said and has never been as bad as many have said. To use NBA basketball terminology, it has all been a bit "treadmill" team. They have papered over cracks repeatedly instead of building an entire new club post-Alex, which is probably what was required after he retired.

In any case, my point was that City really has no competitor again. Maybe Liverpool will give them a run. Sadly for me, I don't think Arsenal will. The draw to Fulham sealed that for me, as City never concede that equalizer. Certainly, Tottenham won't.

Maybe I should have said if Jackson suddenly turns into prime Drogba, Neville will be going on about Chelsea as City's main competitors.

Made me laugh again

Luton to pick up their first point before United get another?
We have been a but unlucky. Lost to Brighton and Chelsea fair and square but var fecked us against West ham and Fulham.

Hopefully get a few points in the next 3.

Do you think Spurs would have beaten United if the blatant handball was given as a penalty in the first half?

Do you think Arsenal beat United if Garnacho's onside winner isn't chalked of?

Do you think Brighton beat United if Hojlund's equaliser just before half time isn't mistakenly cancelled?

I've never seen someone go on about a good decision so much, I'd say you'll have it on your grave stone.
The decisions had been against United, the CAF would still be whinging into next season. However the decisions went your way, hence they were ‘good’ and we should all move on.

I'm still wondering which decisions it was
Certainly not the obvious penalty or the obvious red right?
Maybe I missed something else

I don’t know. Nobody does. But United didn't outplay their opposition in any of those games. Brighton made six changes to a side that had already sold Caicedo and Macalister, yet from about the 20th minute onwards they played like they were the home side. They didn't win because a decision went their way in the first half. They won because they were clearly the better coached team and run United ragged. Arsenal were the better team. As were Spurs.

Let's be real, none of those decisions are egregious. We're talking about a handball call that could of gone either way (as is often the case with handballs for all teams) and goals disallowed for offside and the ball going out. You calling them an "onside winner" and "mistakenly cancelled" doesn't make them so.

All clubs have reasons to moan about referees at times. I could ask the same questions you asked about the games where decisions went against us... but the players put the disappointment behind them and found a way to win. Which, once again, is what United used to do.

United deserved to beat Arsenal. Very fortunate result for you off the back off several officiating errors.

Awful take. They have dominated every single game on the front foot, Man Utd have looked like a timid championship team in every single game. No comparison there.

What VAR decisions have you had that have been wrong? tight yes, but wrong? VAR got the Martinelli 'goal' wrong yesterday and I am sure it will be apaologised for, but they still won the game. Poor excuse made for a poor performing side.

They "dominated" a game against United where we had a winner ruled out in the 88th minute? Interesting take.

We are going for it tonight!

So you should. Burnley are so open. Wouldn't be surprised if you won by 2 goals or more.

CHO / Awonyi / Elanga

Chelsea, Liverpool, Utd rejects. But all three were considered decent prospects for a while. And all three showing improvements at Forest.

is this formation going to be the norm? I thought Forrest played with wingbacks? Hence why they bought Nuno from Arsenal

Why is the bloke who knocked in the World Cup winning penalty trotting up and down the line at the City Ground now?

Never seen promoted teams look so poor. I'd be very surprised if any of them stay up. The worst of last year's teams are probably Everton and Bournemouth but they seem to be better than these 3
