Premier League Gameweek 38

Hopefully Newcastle can hold on to their lead now.

We can win this game and not worry about getting that conference league position.

It's all on the FA Cup and Europa now.

The PL need to throw the book at them with him still there. Otherwise it's pointless.
Asterisks incoming. I honestly believe they'll be cancelled. Before you know it Maine Road will be dusted off and they'll be followed once again by dumpy bitters in bucket hats waving Dole inflatable bananas at division 3 playoff hopefuls.

They're on the verge of making Europe a farmer's continent too. One lucky penalty shootout away from what would have been certain back to back trebles and they've been one or two games away from multiple quadruples twice before that. Literally only Real Madrid stand in the way of Manchester City making competitive football useless in Europe.

Good lord

People talk about how good Pep is, but if you stick any manager in City and dope the books like they have for a decade, they would inevitably do better than they should. People never seem to make that connection. Yes Peps a good manager, but he's had everything a manager could ever want, billions spent on the best players, millions spent on the best setup etc. You give that same setup to Klopp, Arteta or Ancolitti and they will win titles. It's not all down to Pep, he's basically playing FUT with all the Gold cards.

He isn't though is he? 6 Premier Leagues and a Champions League. How is he wasted?

well a huge amount of football supporters and the wider world consider them to be a vacuous club who has cheated trophies to the extent that each of those titles is about as worthwhile as a psg Ligue 1. There's a chance, although unlikely, that they will be stripped of them, and just because a bought and paid for british media does what the murderous middle eastern regime likes, it doesnt mean that the club have a semblance of respect anywhere in world football. Ask the average fan to describe a famous city moment or win beyond the aguero goal and nobody can do it, they've just blurred years of monotonous success into one very well oiled machine of irrelevance in terms of the big picture. Only the british media will peddle any absurd notion of them being greats compared to classic english sides like Liverpool 80s, wenger arsenal or several ferguson Uniteds - and thats because the PL is theri cash cow and calling this farce out as it is will discredit it even more than it has been.

Watch those empty celebrations about an hour from now. It will be like last year- an air of acting about it. A huge anti climax without even the smallest measure of raw joy that goes with celebrations across all sports.

I bet some City fans would prefer it to go back to that though in fairness.

100%

what makes sport attractive is the true emotion. Thats true playing for your sunday league team or watching a friend with an athletics event. There's a real dystopian feel to all of citys title 'celebrations'.

Doesn't matter, the golden glove is already won

And people was wanting Thomas Frank as our manager. Why may I ask? He’s done nothing special and finishing this season near the bottom of the league
