Premier League Gameweek 36

Do we just need a single point now ?

We don't need any points now, I forget what the goal difference is but I think we would need to lose both games by 5 or more goals to drop out of 4th place so whilst it's still mathematically possible to lose 4th place it's pretty much impossible.

Of course though we will be going out to win the games I would hope.

Er a draw here would mean Liverpool could only finish on level points with us, but we have a +14 goal difference meaning it would be over for them.

Effectively being in the top four is not as good as actually having it officially sealed. Strange things have happened in football and I won't be celebrating until it's confirmed.

Still would be nice if we tried to win the last two games....

Interviewer just asked Gerrard how "horrible" the guard of honor was. Aren't they making too big a deal of this now? It's hardly like he's been in THIS title race and just missed out. That was last year ffs

Nah, it's done bar a huge goal swing.

Mathematically yes practically that should be it. They'd need us not only to lose the last 2 matches but lose heavily to take 4th off of us now.

There is a case scenario where we lose both and still get top 4.

Honestly if we're shite enough to squander this position, we should disband from professional football. All we need is to perform decently against Arsenal at home and Hull fecking City.

Any team with top 4 ambitions should be able to do that with their eyes closed.

Thanks.

It was ridiculously underwhelming. I don't know what I was expecting, I was kinda hoping for Gerrard to flip out and start punching the Chelsea players.

That Fellaini goal yesterday even at the time felt like the big one. The goal that would confirm us getting top 4 and so it has.

Gerrard giving it to the Chelsea fans. And doing his best to pretend he didn't hand in a transfer request.

Gerrard with a few digs at the Chelsea fans

Him admitting Mourinho is the best manager will probably piss Rodgers off but it's the truth

14 goals? What, if liverpool win both games by 4 and we lose to Arsenal and hull by 4?

Yes, it is isn't it. Average of just under a 4 goal swing EACH game of the 4. I think we're more than fairly safe barring some pretty obv match fixing scandal.

Haha credit to Gerrard for puncturing Sky's agenda there and having a dig at the Chelsea fans

Think he's given a good honest interview tbh and funny about the Chelsea fans.

Yeah Aguero and then Silva, I think. You could also argue a case for Sanchez and Cesc too.

He's the most underwhelming POTY since Bale won it first time round.
Find Cesc a bit overrated to be honest.

Liverpool have Crystal Palace next, it'd be nice if Palace turned up for that game...if Pool lose points there then no niggly worries - it will be well and truly over.

We were hammered recently by an Everton side who have been bitch slapped around the place by some of the leagues bottom dwellers this season.
Including Hull who we have still to face after Arsenal.

+14 is not a bulletproof goal difference spread across 4 games.

Just got this off Rawk, its from a Chelsea fan on twitter -

You coming to the pub before the game mate?"

"Nah not today, I've got to laminate my Steven Gerrard signs."

Plastic twats lol, funny though.

Of feck off. When are they ringing up Obama to ask about Steven Gerrard?

fecking sick of it. The odius twat
