Premier League Gameweek 30+31

Chelsea parking the Lampard Blue Bus and playing on the counter the entire match is the correct setup, especially without a City pure center forward, which has been an issue for them.

Figures that it's an opportunity for us in our top 4 race, and Chelsea pull through. Except it's due to worthless City.
Chelsea city fixture never seem to work for us and always go against us. In 2015-16 in the fight for top 4, city travelled to a chelsea side who although were having an awful season but were on a decent form under hiddink but lost that game 3-0 giving city 3 important points. Would not be surprised if city are done for the game.

No Jesus or Aguero shows City don't care about this game. Think they're putting theirs eggs on FA Cup now

A dark dark day

The worry now is they go on to dominate for a few more years :(

If 45 minutes could show up everything wrong with us this season that was it. Mendy being Mendy. Gundogan and Rodri being as useful at protecting the back 4 as two cardboard cutouts of Fernandinho but with half the spine. Getting exactly what we deserve. Chelsea cutting us apart every time they go forward. Yet again our CB's will get the blame for the statue and the coward in midfield.

Calm down. They have a lot of games left to lose points. West Ham is first of them
You're relying on West Ham after that Spurs game? They'll definitely drop points but we will too imo, this was one of those almost guaranteed dropped points games for them so it'd be a very bad result in my eyes. Hopefully Leicester continue their slide.

Unless you win the CL it's been a really poor season for Pep. Feels like last season took all you're energy.

I quite like Pulisic, solid little player Chelsea have there.

Surprised anyone’s even thinking about the title implications to be honest. Thats been wrapped up for months.

All I care about is Chelsea dropping points.
Some want to delay the inevitable a little bit longer. It just coincides with us needing Chelsea to lose. But I'm fine with a draw even. The sooner the better.

I've made my peace and have multiple escapism ready.
Main one being my Pre Ban Party thread! Woot Woot!

What’s more fun for Liverpool fans - winning the league tonight due to City losing and then having a guard of honour at the Etihad or winning the league in Manchester?

I think I've said it often enough: Crystanbul result and then Chelsea don't slip to hand us the title. This is the ONLY scenario as dictated by destiny.

City doing everything possible to make it tough for us to finish in the top 4. I watch this and just feel sad we didn't get Bruno on January 1. If we'd have had him for the Burnley game etc the result of this match would be irrelevant.

People worried about top 4 and stuff. We'll finish ahead of Leicester not Chelsea. Calm down.

I don't see City scoring without Jesus coming on. Time to put our hopes on Leicester continuing their slide.

How is he overrated ? I hardly see anyone who actually rates him that highly.

He was he first signed and his constant Injuries helped sustain the myth that once he was fit he’d be incredible.

Was thinking this before but probably the latter. It would have been better to see our players to win in Manchester but the thought of losing and City delaying the wait would have been annoying bit like them losing at home to United couple of years ago which was hilarious but then winning it week after anyway, last night should have been the game to win it outright and celebrate but whatever now i'll be happy if the next 45 stays like this.

Great goal by Captain America!!!!! Incoming Giroud goal in the second half!!!!

The Man City team of the two previous seasons was no where to be seen this season. The current City team have arguably the strongest panel in the league and supposedly have one of the best managers in the world yet they are on course for their 8 defeat of the season and by the looks of it will hand a easy league title to Liverpool with 7 games to spare.

You don't like Gundogan but it's laughable how you're trying to blame him some how for the 1st half in which city totally controlled the game and Chelsea scored from a Mendy error...

Its been a shocking season regardless. The performance in the prem is abysmal regardless of cup competitions. Losing the league title to Liverpool getting 100 points is acceptable. Finishing with approx 80 points is a joke. Too many passengers in the squad who seem to give no shits. A shell of the team led by Kompany two years ago. Pep or whoever is involved in defensive/midfield signings have a lot to answer for.

Mendy is trash, and this isn’t reactionary. I’ve never rated him. Absolute crap.

They seem to switch off depending on the occasion. IIRC Rodri and Gundogan were excellent against Madrid, you didn't look this vulnerable to fast counters. But then again Mendy and Walker are pushing up much further providing Chelsea with lanes to move down.
