Premier League Gameweek 3

Fantastic match, Newcastle looks really good and they really had City on the ropes for a while. City look really good as well I have to say and Haaland looks to be settling well.

Newcalste lucky to get their red card overturned though, clear red to me and absolutely should be red since those kind of tackles should not be allowed. Sure, the contact isn't with the studs, but that's pure luck from Trippier's side.

Seems like week in week out every team is pressing more aggressively. It's impressive to see how the likes of Klopp, Guardiola etc have influenced even the lower league teams.

It’s what makes watching our set of lazy cnuts even more infuriating. The off ball side of the game is about effort, for all the misplaced passes/shots there’s absolutely no excuse for the consistent lack of effort under multiple managers.

Not going to start a thread but with the signing of Casemiro likely to end McT's hopes of starting every game and Anthony being a threat to Rashford's place in the XI (with Sancho moving to the left), are we soon going to see regular Man United starting XI with no academy products?

Any chance we see it tonight if Rashford is dropped?

When did that last happen? Must've been the odd game last year when Rashford was injured and McT didn't start, right?

I know you have an incredible record going back decades for at least having one on the bench (and that record isn't going anywhere with as many subs are now allowed).

We had Elanga and Voldemort starting regular as well, so I think you need to go further back.

Interested to see how we do tonight. Dropping points in all three opening fixtures seemed unthinkable at the start of the season.

Expecting this: Alisson; TAA, Gomez, VVD, Robertson; Fabinho, Henderson, Keita/Elliott; Salah, Firmino, Diaz.

Liverpool or Utd fans ?
Well that's your lot but tbh I hate when Liverpool fans do it, I hate when other fans do it, I just hate the whole extreme hatred that has to be associated with following a football team.

Sigh, football tribalism at its worst.

Quick, we need to deflect. Where's the Liverpool hooligan CL final thread?

Seriously though, are you Utd fans surprised by this large minority of your supporters?

Keita not even in the squad after training all week. That midfield is dreadful.

It’s crass but I never fully understand why fans get so touchy about bad taste chanting. Same with United fans and Munich. In fact, especially United fans and Munich. We know they’re only saying it to get a rise and it was so long ago that we have zero personal connection with what happened, yet we insist on acting mortally offended. Why?? Hillsboro is recent enough it could touch a raw nerve for a very small minority of fans but for most of them it’s just pantomime abuse and should be treated accordingly.

I find the degeneracy of it highly distateful. Mocking the deaths of innocent people, or using the deaths of innocent people as a way to point score against other people over a game is just grim loser behaviour.

I can't ever get on board with glorifying deaths of players/fans in the name of supporting a sports team. It doesn't really register in my head at all.

I don't think Harvey Elliot has the potential Liverpool fans think he does, too athletically lacking to become anything more than decent.

Interesting.

I'm still not 100% sold on him tbh. He puts in a good performance here and there and everyone gets excited. Carvalho has more talent imo.

The last time Van Dijk and Gomez started a game together was that 7-2 at Villa.

Just realised we don't have enough fit outfield players to fill the bench; Harvey Davies is a goalkeeper

If Utd persist with playing out from the back tonight, that Liverpool front 3 will eat them alive.

Both midfields look awful, but I would say Liverpool's looks worse, surprisingly.

1-2 FT.

My confidence has completely gone. I'm sick of seeing Henderson and Milner start big games like this for us. It's 2022. They were starting games when Klopp arrived in 2015.

It's okay mate, remember we're definitely in for Bellingham next summer; a player who is definitely the only midfielder in the world who could improve our current lineup

To be clear, I’m not condoning it. Like I said, it’s crass. Actually it mainly comes across as childish. They need to grow the feck up. I just don’t see it as something to get worked up about. That’s exactly what they want. And it shouldn’t be hard to let it wash over you.

Relax! You beat us 5-0 with those two last season.
