Premier League Gameweek 3

I see Sky have phased out ‘Man of the match’ for ‘Player of the match’

Just go full NFL like you know you want too and use MVP.

Chelsea, what the hell? Seems like everyone is having a crap start to the season except City. :(

Let's see if the media have the same reaction as they did with Martinez. They slaughtered Martinez when he didn't even have such a bad game.
he’s not 6’3 and built like a fridge though, because that matters apparently

Did Chelsea create anything first half? It's feels like Chelsea don't even create many chances, let alone be able to finish them.

Has Moyes maxed out his potential with West Ham? They seem to have regressed already from last season

They badly needed some depth to rotate the first XI but they spunked £100m on Scammaca who isn't that good, Cornet, and £40m on Aguerd and Areola in defense. Moyes is usually good in the transfer window but it's a bit of a waste of money when not one of your signings is as good as your existing XI.

Especially when Chelsea are currently lining up with a back three of 5'11 Silva, 5'10 Azpilicueta and 5'7 Cucurella... but United sign a 5'9 centre half and everybody loses their minds.

Reece James looks very comfortable and natural playing RB... I don't understand coaches playing their players out of their best position.
The same thing with Havertz. After seeing him for the last few years, playing behind a striker is maximizing his qualities, sort of like Muller role or Messi, needs a certain freedom of movement. Right now he's so diabolical in performance stuck as a striker.

yeah. they even ban you from the ground nowadays if you single out a person of colour for their skin colour and abuse them for it. game’s gone.
Even if you know Balotelli? That's not on.

Away from home against a big historical rival give them a one goal head start pretty much. Concede from a set piece. Then it's very difficult. Individual errors all over the place.

Robbed last week. Bad day at the office today. Underperformed in attack. Interesting to see how Tuchel reacts.

Changes needed I think.

I did wonder if some clubs would try to come out of preseason with all guns blazing and get as many points on the board before the WC. Then it becomes a war of attrition to the end of the season. Or maybe they are gradually bringjng them up to fitness and managing them knowing the WC will have an impact but they are trying to minimise that impact post WC.

Or some players are holding back for the WC.

It was done a while ago, I think. They now have the same name for the award across men's and women's football. Most sports have changed it as far as I'm aware. It's not too difficult to understand.

Sooner or later, those cnuts will get close to our 20.
They are going to close in on Everton's record and probably overtake it under Pep.

Thankfully Pep won't be around managing for another 10+ years at one club so record should be safe. :nervous:

Tuchel deserves it in my opinion for shoving one of his best attacking threats at CB.

Underwhelming performances in random league matches are not irrelevant. He proved to be the difference maker and winner on the biggest stage. People talk all the time about winning the big final is the ultimate achievement, where many are found lacking and few have what it takes. Only Coman and Vinicius Jr can compare to him.
Isn’t one final a random game over consistent failings in almost every other Chelsea game?

If only Leeds had decided to 'target and bully' him

You've got to love a narrative.

It's the biggest prize. Only the very best can win it, I was told.
I know you're memeing, but I hate when people use that argument to say a player is good. It's so fecking stupid. I don't care if a player scored in a final 4 years ago if they're shite in almost every game they play in.

It’s easier to judge the league after 10 games but West Ham don’t look great so far. They have so many players out of form and/or purple patches.

That’s not even close to true. It’s a cup competition.
I was joking. That's why I find it ridiculous when people talk about some arcane tactical knowledge and perfect squad building needed to win it.
