Premier League Gameweek 23 (13th - 15th Jan 2018)

So, Guardiola keeps David Silva out, he's being cautious.

He's been missing for the best part of a month, not able to train with the team. Wouldn't say its tactical as much as lack of time with the squad.

Guardiola didn't rest Silva for the United or Chelsea game. Shows you how he views this Liverpool team.

Wenger is still a much respected coach though. Its the board taking advantage of his loyality and love towards the club.

If there is someone who can back him with some money, he would do wonders to the team.
On the pitch, nope. Structure of a club, yes.

Wasn't that before he had issues with his baby?

No, him being rested has to do with a neck issue he's had for a long time. He missed one game because of his baby and that was vs Tottenham.

Is there any news on his baby?

Not that I know but I haven't looked for updates. The club and David himself and keeping quiet on the situation. Tbh I don't check beyond that as if David wants people to know he'll tell them. I guess every day or week that goes by without bad news is good news with a kid that small.

Guardiola kinda confirmed the issue with his baby is still influencing Silva's selection situation.

All the confidence has drained out of me with VVD's injury. Not that he alone csn do it all but the bollocking he gave Karius last time out was wonderful to see.

Instead of 2-2 I'm going 1-2 now.

So he's on the bench? Why not out of the squad? It's not like he is lacking match fitness. What sort of mental limitations make you eligible for the bench but not to start?

I find myself actively rooting for the dippers this afternoon. The recovery process post game will be long and arduous.

Listening to Fan Park Live. This poor guy just phoned in, irate, claiming Arsenal's woes are all down to the blue away kit, without a hint of irony.

I know that really a City win is better for us league wise, but can't be having them unbeaten... So yeah, come on Scousers.

What’s up with Virgil? Any idea how long he’s out for?
Klopp: "Virgil is a little bit injured, but it’s not serious. If it’s the last game of the season, maybe you take the season, but it’s not the last game of the season."

Want a Liverpool win today. Title is more or less done, but we can't just give up this early in January.

Heard this chant this week - to be fair, it's absolute class  Very catchy.

Tbh I want a city win here, the leagues already over so a city win would just to keep the scousers off our backs.

Dreading this now, it's been a shit day football wise. Apart from the Arsenal game.

He hasn't trained, I'd imagine the team were preparing for the game since the last one, with Silva missing. Why would Pep throw him in vs. Liverpool away with no tactical preperation? If he thought Silva could just turn up and play with no preperation vs Liverpool that would be complacent, like he did vs Watford (I think). Lets be honest completely different situations.

Silva won't start any big games until he's back full time. Hopefully soon but if not so be it.. family is more important than football and Gundo is as good a replacement as we could possibly hope to have.

Big ask to win this. I’d take a draw now.

So would I, can we shake hands and agree on a point each here. Fwiw, I think you'll be the team to turn us over, we're terrible at Anfield.

Hope everything goes well.
