Premier League Gameweek 2

Of course it is
Strange, as I could have sworn they just had three weeks off?!

They have but they did have the luxury of two first 11's worthy of the top 6 last season or are you overlooking that fact?

The Sweden manager said Lindelof was dead on his feet before we even came back to training.

1 game into the season and I am already hoping for city to win to stop liverpool, literally hate everyone!

That Podence assist was class, nutmegging KDB and putting it on the head of Jimenez. Great finish too.

What a fecking fanny, how is he staying down that long

If only VAR could book players for wasting time like that pretending to be hurt in order to try and bait a red card.

15min to get a draw, go Wolves !

Never realised how much Jimenez looks like a later Micheal Jackson

The point is they can both putting number on the other end while maintain that good defensive record! Their defensive record was better the previous season.

You're comparing to Jose worse defensive record. Turn back the clock, and we're better off in defensively and point tally wise too. So seem like we're moving Mourinho lite rather than doing some revolution in style.

And that's something that is a process. Were City and Liverpool like that in the first few seasons the managers were in charge? No! They had to work on it and make some pretty expensive signings (Pep, especially) to get to that stage.

Am I saying Ole will get us to that level? Who knows, but lets not pretend this was done overnight.

I'd also personally have liked to see how many goals we'd have bagged if we started the season with the team we ended with last season. We were blowing teams away post lockdown. Our three attackers were amongst some of the highest scorers in the league.

No that's incorrect, Lindlelof played the full 90 mins against France a few days before the game he sat out due to fatigue.

And yes City have two brilliant sides, but they can only use 14/16 each game, and I don't recall them rotating too much post lockdown.
But anyway.

And they have looked very leggy second half anyway. They are just better than us. We all know that.
I agree, City have dropped, but also Wolves have stepped up and gone a bit more direct this half which has helped them.
Unfortunately they are miles better than us, but doesn't take away from the fact that they look fitter then us, more organized and cohesive despite not having any pre season and minimal rest, wouldn't you say?

City were great in first half but then could hardly walk in second. Guess midfield will be a big problem for City again and doesn't help when you have clowns like Stones and Mendy in defence.

And I don't understand why any other league allows five subs but PL doesn't. This is gonna cost teams in CL a lot again.

City and Pool quickly had their style implement during the first 12 months. The improvement in defensive record and champion winning goal scoring record is the result. The idea, pattern is always there even with worse players. They didn't go from opportunist, counter attacking system for over a season to promise and transform overnight. And before all, their managers showed that they can implement such style at their previous clubs with real success.

Let's not pretend we didn't make expensive signings for Ole.

It's not like anyone are saying sacking Ole tomorrow morning. So yeah, you're free to look forward to seeing how this Ole Babes grow this season. Doesn't mean other people concern about our coaching is not relevant (new hot term/word on CAF)

It;s going to be another season of supporting City to stop Liverpool winning another title.

Shite result. Pool and City were there for the taking fitness wise, yet they didn't drop point in their first game.

Your first XI is better than City now with Aguero's constant injuries and Silva moving on.

Sane is a player I'm glad left too, don't know much about Torres but Sane always played at his best against us. Aguero is going to be a big miss for them if he's expected to be out for two months, I still think they should buy a target man up front (hope they don't) which Pep doesn't like but I think they'll settle for a big name defender and that will be it.

Don't understand why Wolves intend on playing one half per game. Seems that trend is going to continue into this season. They have to look into that midfield. Playing Neves and Moutinho in the same side just doesn't seem like a good idea.

Pep has to make adjustments to how his team defends if he intends on winning the CL during his time at City. Giving away such big chances because you want to rewrite the book on defending doesn't make sense. You can get away with that stuff against mediocre sides but better sides on the ball will figure it out.

Liverpool were leaky goals left right and centre until they signed VVD and Allison and Pep continues to spend crazy amounts on his defence, only to end up with a back two of Stones and Ake tonight.

Ole has made expensive signings (defensive ones) and we have seen an improvement to our defence. That's all he can do. As I pointed out earlier, we had the third-best defensive record in the league. Now he wants to improve the attack, but it seems our board aren't allowing him to do so.
