I think it's more about the intention of tactical structure. Sometimes you play bad, sometimes good, but the question is whether you can see a systematically coached side and Soton are definitely that.

Think they would actually. Kane likes to drop off and link play, whilst Ings, as we saw with his goal, likes to run in behind.

The last thing Ings needs is a move, especially to a club that usually favours playing the one striker up top like Spurs do. Southampton suits him down to the ground and he hasn't got the added pressure of playing at a club the size of Spurs. It's a good place for him to be at this stage of his career, imo.

Spurs are quite embarrassing to watch. Zero midfield. Zero control of game and zero tactics. Lets hoof it up to Son or Kane and see what happens.

We were dominant because perhaps having better players does that. Just because that can happen it doesn't negate the quality of coaching relative to the individual quality available.

No, I'd say we were tactically better too. Just couldn't finish our chances.

Maybe, but to achieve that level of tactical fluidity and that level of automation with inferior players is a testimony to the quality of the coaching. Take the same quality of coaching and apply it to a set of better players and we'd have a much, much more fluid system than we have now.
