Premier League - Gameweek 17

Amuses me Nunez having another underwhelming season infront of goal, Slot mentioned this and he's given him all of four minutes.

Ideal game for him to get his confidence up.

People watch this attacking execution on display and then blame Amorim for poor results. Go ahead and give Slot a front 3 of Hojlund, Garnacho, and Rashford with Dalot putting in crosses instead of Trent and watch them struggle to get consistent results. Great coaches can only do so much if players can't execute particularly in the final third.

You have one of the worst forward lines of the top 10 and certainly the most brain dead one.

EtH truly ruined your team.

He started his job at Feyenoord with Cyriel Dessers and Bryan Linssen up front and almost won the Conference League :smirk:

And United's problems don't overly lie with those.... the back 3 and midfield 2 bring next to nothing in terms of any level of build up or control, not that control is overly needed. But you know. All 3 of those in this Liverpool squad and Salah aside, they'd be doing comparable numbers to anyone else.

We've controlled majority of games so far since we brought in Amorim FYI.

Yeah it's not close. I said the same last season as well, majority of our attackers wouldn't start for another team in the top half barring Amad.
Amad is your only bright spark and I genuinely like him.

On the bright side Rashford is on his way out but you gotta get rid of Fernandes.

Mike Dean's explanations, feelings about Pool aside, don't fill me with confidence for refs in general.
Definitely protecting each other.
“It’s a clear yellow card but the referee is right not to give it because it would have meant a sending off. Correct decision” - eh what now Mike?

It's beginning to look aSlot like....

Even Peter didn't want to finish that deliciously poised sentence.

Only negative is conceding three from not many chances that Spurs had. Defensively we’ve dropped a fair bit since Konate’s injury.

Very good apart from that.

Spurs are crap.

No we really haven't, not in a effective way that builds up to anything, and especially not in a 3/4 games you'd like to see the improvement that Amorim's had so far, it's no way near there yet, and hasn't been for years. Obviously he should feasibly have a consistent plan and setup in mind which is better than ETH just throwing in whatever and expecting it to randomly work. But again, I'd fancy any of the 3 forwards you mentioned to do fine with Slot and this Liverpool team but not Salah level, Nunez, Diaz, Gakpo and Jota though? Definitely...

Neville basically laughing at Mike Dean there for spouting bollocks about how the most nailed on yellow card isn’t a yellow because of the context of the game

Szoboslai is a terrific player between the boxes, fantastic running power and mobility, surprising lack of productivity overall.

I wonder if our lot ever watch Liverpool and feel a little bit embarrassed by the difference in fitness and work rate

Getting paid £200k+ a week?

I personally wouldn't give a shit if we got beat every week with that money. And those players certainly don't.

What's with referees going on about the context of the game changing their decisions? It's as stupid as saying a tackle in the penalty area would be a foul anywhere else on the pitch, or a two footed lunge would be a red if it wasn't made in the first 5 minutes of a game. Can we have some fecking proper rules put in place and consistently applied ffs
