Premier League Gameweek 17-19

All the games are crucial if we want to get top 4. Same for you boys really.

That said we’ve no right to be doing as well as we are currently, especially given Ten Hag has only been here a few months, so it’s quite refreshing to see the improvements.

We are not clicking up top, and need a CF, but we look a well drilled side. When was the last time you could say that about United?
Just want us to not have to beat these teams, win all the winnable games, then if you drop points to City etc no big deal.

11 pts ahead of us. So sad… I was hoping to be closer to the top. When is their luck going to run out?

Just saw that Newcastle and City dropped points. Great day for us in that regard

That’s that then. When shots like that are going in and your closest challengers have dropped points at home earlier, it’s destined to be your year.
Feel like Leicester tbh, something feels off about it, don't look like losing but they don't look amazing, just randomness to it.

It's a weird league as we're not half way but we will have played City twice before arsenal played them once.

They have 14 wins and a draw for 16 games… it’s very irritating but they are winning and winning. What I don’t understand is how early they score. I would like to see teams make them struggle more.

Which would people say is the most costly defeat out of Brentford, Brighton and Villa looking at todays results

that was a reschedule wasnt it?
Yep, so there are points to be made up when games against top teams even out. 11 points sounds mad but they still got city to play, and Newcastle in the week. Those two games can shift the point difference just like that.

Arsenal deserve to have their lead at the top though

I still think we match up favourably against them. I could see us beating them at the Emirates but that wont be enough.

We do as we saw in the 1st game when we beat them 3-1. They had tons of possession but did hee-haw with it.

I think you’re doing the quality of your squad a disservice to some extent but the work ETH has done with Rashford, Dalot, rebuilding your midfield and addressing issues like Ronaldo and squad harmony has been very good. Even more so when you consider how the first two games went.

The problem we all have is that there are now seven teams who probably think they can make top four. Three have to miss out (unless one of us wins a European trophy).

Villa. I look at the first few as a means of getting casemiro over the line.

Villa just happened with the new manager bounce (and a free kick where the wall was pushed so far back it became ineffective and killed the game)

It’s all down to finishing. They could have scored early like they do against other teams and the momentum change. In fact, they did score but it was disallowed so that scenario is still a possibility. The key is to frustrate them by taking the ball away from them in the first 15mn.

Yeah Villa really stung because we had really built up a good run of form, damn could have been point off City and not double figures off top either.

Normally I would say seven points isn’t enough of a lead over City but Arsenal are putting together the kind of formidable run that City and Liverpool have done in recent seasons. This league has become weird and this team is on course to finish with more points than Wenger ever did. Hopefully one day we’ll be saying the same of ETH and Sir Alex.

42 points with only Kane, Martineli, Kepa and Cucu left. Holly shit. I didn't expect haul as last week but still. This is debacle
