Premier League Gameweek 17-19

How is De Zerbi doing at Brighton? I haven't seen much of them since he took over but the results definitely seem to have dropped off, though I suppose this was always likely to happen.

In 1915.

Awkwardly ten years before - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/English_football_bribery_scandal#:~:text=It resulted in the Manchester, playing for the club again.

The 1905 English football bribery scandal was an event of corruption that surfaced at the conclusion of the 1904–05 football season in England. It centred on the accusations that Manchester City player Billy Meredith had offered a rival player from Aston Villa a bribe to purposely lose their final league match of the season between the teams.

It resulted in the Manchester City manager (Tom Maley) and former chairman (W. Forrest) being banned from English football sine die, two directors (Allison and Davies) suspended for seven months, a further five directors dismissed, and a total of 17 players banned from ever playing for the club again. Among the players was Billy Meredith, who was banned from football for 18 months and transferred to City's local rivals Manchester United before the end of his ban
 Where is he?

Be nice if the Brighton that turned up against us could turn up instead of laying down the red carpet for them.

Ah the old conspiracy theories...

Oil money is bad! You already have it.

Loved this as well @TheReligion - tries to compare a nation state with horrific human rights record, that is wealthy due to its oil reserves, bankrolling the entire success of your club, to an American oil brand photo op....

Desperation.

A second goal would be more than welcome. The defense seems to be on a nervy one today.

He’s had a mare but tbh @padr81 is usually quite objective in his views and good to have around.

Genuinely think some of our rivals are a bit twitchy now with Ten Hag coming in and new ownership on the horizon…

Exciting times for United!

My mate who despises United actually relented last night at the pub and said actually Ten Hag comes across well and United look good.

They will say it though gritted teeth.

Many will be shitting themselves RE the Glazers leaving too. They know they’ve held us back for a very long time.
We just look competent. Not the finished article but anyone with eyes can see the vast improvement in half a season.

You are looking good bit those two matches towards the end January are crucial against City/Arsenal. Crucial.

All the games are crucial if we want to get top 4. Same for you boys really.

That said we’ve no right to be doing as well as we are currently, especially given Ten Hag has only been here a few months, so it’s quite refreshing to see the improvements.

We are not clicking up top, and need a CF, but we look a well drilled side. When was the last time you could say that about United?

The day I worry about what Spurs are doing we may as well give up altogether.
It’s just a step to secure 4th before going for 3rd. We will forget soon about Spurs but for that, we need results to go our way.

That’s that then. When shots like that are going in and your closest challengers have dropped points at home earlier, it’s destined to be your year.

A 7 point lead at this stage is very impressive. City can easily make that up but they look a bit patchy this season.
