Premier League Gameweek 17-19

Arsenal play some nice football.

That's what can happen when you give a manager with good ideas time and resources to make the squad his own.

How have they won 13 out of 15 games when they’re not all that? Even we sat them down without much trouble.
They were totally outplaying us in the second half before we scored to 2-1. Looked way more likely to win at that point. xG had them winning.

They don't overplay it do they when they beat a man. They catch goalkeepers off guard with how quickly they shoot.

will absolutely retire with that record
It sums up Moyes as a manager imo - very good, but never elite one that'd be capable for next step and big things. West Ham/Everton manager indeed. I wouldn't be surprised if he actually gets sacked at West Ham this season and goes back to Everton actually, would be good thing for Everton after 10 years of wandering.

Lets not rewrite history while you were deserved winners it certainly wasn't without much trouble.
Arsenal had higher xg and more shots. You guys were much more clinical on the day. It was a good compeititve PL that you guys shaded and deservedly won.

More shots doesn’t mean they troubled us. I don’t remember us having to make many saves, in fact wasn’t Jesus’ goal their first on target?

Really don’t understand why teams just bend down and show them so much respect. Look at the amount of possession they have. Just get in their faces and have a go at them ffs. Didn’t we showed how to beat them?

Second half we were being totally outplayed before our goal. Anyone who says differently is either misremembering or biased.
Luckily the game is over 90 mins and not just a 15 min period.

There were phases of the game when they played very well, but overall we contained them well and managed the game excellently. It wasn't as tense or as tight as people have made it out to be

We didn't though. Arsenal fans tried to rewrite it like that afterwards but that's not what happened.

Uhmm, it's not that far from the truth though :

Who else has lost the league after an 8 point lead at Christmas?

If City lose their game it'll be 8 points.

Even if City don't win their game in hand it's hardly impossible to turn that around for a team who can bang 15 or so wins on the spin.

It was typical arsenal v united from fergie v Wenger days. They weren't battering us with chances and all. We closed up spaces and let them have the ball, won it and broke

Was how you would expect a smart manager to play. (And even our first goal wasn't a counter despite how some state it was). We played some nice tight passes

even Phil Brown won at Arsenal

I think the biggest difference in the United game was that Partey was missing.

They are a different side without him and if he gets injured they are fecked IMO.

I'm not saying they were battering us. Someone suggested we put them down with little trouble which is obviously not what happened. We edged the first half, were entirely dominated for the first 30 minutes of the second and then scored against the run of play.

That's just it, they were very good on the ball admittedly, but there was no end product. A good team on the counter will always cause them problems (especially if Partey is out).

Arsenal's record at OT is terrible but that was one of their better performances. So I'm not too surprised they have stayed in the top four. Plus Arteta seems to have learnt from that sub error he made which led to Rashford's second.
