Premier League Gameweek 17-19

Chelsea are so so poor.

Their final ball is severely lacking, lack of creativity, absolutely nothing going forward.

Granted they have injuries but they have spent hundreds of millions to be left with this.
No gameplay, no spirit

Chelsea play like a plucky mid table team. A potential banana skin for the big clubs. If you imagine you are watching West Ham or Brentford, you say to yourself, they are doing quite well; but once you remember this is Chelsea and they’ve spent about 400m in the last 12 months, you realise how fecking abject this is.

Yeah but nobody would have Ruud as a ballon'dor winner while people are literally going apeshit over Haaland becoming one in the future
He is literally anonymous when he is not scoring. I don’t understand the contest between Mbappé and Haaland. Sure, the Yeti is a scoring machine but Mbappé is 10 times the footballer he is. So much better in every aspect of the game.

Don Hutchinson, Christ haven't heard that name in a while!

I don't think it'll be too much of a problem. Bought by the previous manager, already on the fringes in top level football after Barca wanted rid.

Think he has more of an issue with creating a collective identity with this team and he doesn't have wiggle room like you do at a smaller club. Still think he'd do well for them given (plenty of) time. But having that toad owner playing footie manager is a huge stumbling block to progress I assume.
Aubameyang won't be happy and he has previous. He's still a part of the squad though nowhere near as significant as in his Arsenal days. But you know what it;s like when one player is having a strop. Arteta had to keep him away from the rest of the team.

Maybe you're right but it will be interesting to see what transpires. I'll watch out for Aubameyang at the final whistle.

I will spell it out for you mate: Chelsea are poor and have been for some time now. What we considered to be a good point turned out to be two points dropped
We also could've lost easily to them last season. It happens

I might jinx myself but I can properly see Chelsea going through an extended period of not challenging for the title. Like United have over the last decade

Newcastle will probably replace them as a top 4 team over the next few years

How many of Chelsea’s recent signings (last five years let’s say) can be classed as successful?

Gallagher was good at Palace ….should have stayed there

Chelsea remind me of the Chelsea I watched growing up in the late 90's. I.e shite

Think Zakaria comes out of this game with some credit.

You don't need to. It's when you play them rather who you play. Chelsea were in good form for all of October, then drew at Brentford (16 of 18 points) and home against United before beating Salzburg in CL...then they went into their spiral.

He needs to play in a three. He’s tragic as part of a midfield 2. From a three he has more license to get forward, ghosting in on those late runs into the box. He’s further forward right now, but think his form and confidence is shot.
