Premier League Gameweek 12

Suppose for the last season you could make a case for Chilwell but imo Maguire was their best player last season.
True, but there wasnt a great deal of competition for the gig. Im not on the knoble when I say that Soyoncu is a better player than Maguire.

When was the last time we capitalised on those type of situations? These are the times when we always contrive to feck things up. I'm hoping I'm wrong this time though.

You're right. We always tend to fail in these situations. Let's see if we hold our nerve tomorrow.

So, our predicted line up for tomorrow has Fabinho, Gini and Henderson. While it’s nice to see Fabinho starting, I think Chamberlain should also start ahead of Henderson.
Hes just won POTM and hes in great form. Not even counting his record against City which is good.

We need all the firepower we can get to try and finish the game as early as possible. Their defence is not their best weapon but neither are ours anymore. So I think it can be a game with a lot of goals.

Fair enough. No hard feelings. My point was it was very hard for the club not to appoint Ole after the huge winning streak he had and how he lifted the mood at the club drastically when he arrived. That, and being a club legend, meant it would have been beyond harsh to dismiss him and not offer him the job.

Not sure why United get stick over this. They made a choice I think almost any club in the same boat would have done and now things are wobbling have stuck to their guns (at least until the end of the season). As frustrated as I am I think it's quite admirable and refreshing for a big club. Yes there's plenty of things to improve but I don't get the smug comments on here. Hindsight is a wonderful thing.

Sorry, newbie's post limit.

Dead cat bounce is a reality, even for a club of your size. The atmosphere in José's last months was so toxic, that anyone who came right after him, would've been a bit of fresh air for the players and the fans. You're a massive club that appointed permanently a manager who would've never gotten the job if it wasn't for his past connection(s) to the club. After all these "wrong" appointments since SAF left and the lack of long-term vision, it always looked like as a gamble which reeked of a panic decision. Of course hindsight is a wonderful thing and the board was stuck between a rock and hard place, but it should have held back and waited until the season's over. Then assess the situation and I'm fairly certain that OGS wouldn't have been hired permanently.

He's a legend as former player and will always be, no matter how his stint at your club will turn out to be. He's not the first and certainly not the last in this case. However the rebuild can and should go without him. It's a vision, a project and not tied to the manager himself. From an outsider point of view, he's not really looking up to it and it's quite incredible that some here celebrate a win against Norwich or Partizan as a credential to his project. I understand the rebuild necessity, you're in need of it and it will take you a couple of years before you'll be challenging for the title. Still, you're better than 10th, even with your actual squad. You need a proven builder and I don't think OGS is one of them.

Holy shit a not-so-smug-sensible Leicester fan!

If they are technically fantastic that will be good coaching all the way through. They maybe also look to buy players with good technical ability.

Yes. I wasn't insinuating that Frank had someone gifted them all fantastic technical ability. More that he's able to let them express themselves within his tactical methodology without them feeling the pressure of playing for a big club.

Promote this lad. Speaks so much sense.

The new biggest game in world football takes place today. I'm bricking it.

Please just don't lose it.
Don't think you'll win, as you have no defence, and more worryingly, barely anyone who can head it. Any corner is going to be an ugly watch.

Got a feeling City are going to do it today.

All the talk about their (and Pep's) Anfield horrors, the injuries and most people predicting a Liverpool win I think may fire City up.

Liverpool win. At best a draw, i cant see City winning. Think Liverpool will win comfortably at home

Would be quite the victory if they did win. We haven’t lost in the league at home since April 2017. City haven’t won there since 2003 and Aguero has yet to score a goal at Anfield as well. Combine that with their injuries and City are really up against it.

Not crazy about Henderson starting but I understand why he’s done it.

Bravo, Walker and Stones all starting for City, I'll be shocked if Liverpool don't win and they are due a good performance so I won't be surprised if they win 3 or 4-0 simliar to the way they hammered Barcelona. This is a City side beaten by Norwich and Wolves this season let's not forget.

George Baldock, who leveled the match for Sheffield against Spurs, played in Iceland 7 years ago. He was very good here and has worked his way up to the PL it seems.

Not many players that have played in the entire English league system.
Scored in the Conference, League two, League one, the Championship and now the Premier League. Incredible journey
