Premier League Gameweek 11

West Ham had a situation like that waved against us. I thought it was a clear pen then too. Reason given was that it was a ‘fleeting hold of the arm’. It happened in another game recently too, forgot which one, with the same outcome. Seems like they don’t deem pulling someone’s arm a foul unless they hold the arm for more than a couple of seconds.
Wasn't this a shirt tug though? He literally spun him around.

Yes I don't agree with that one bit.
But hey who cares right, Coote is apparently a fantastic PL ref.
Who is Pau and what does it have to do with that Watkins challenge?

Edit: aah wait, that's the guy who was pulled down. Yeah, that was a pen.

They just do enough to see out games but it just feels like they are riding some luck atm.
They’re not riding luck, they’re being carefully ushered along by the referees.

Hmmm so I guess they've made a change to not call those penalties anymore. How long someone holds the arm is a moot point though since it should also depend on the situation. If someone is running clear and the defender pulls the arm for even a split second it can result in the player losing balance legitimately. Looked like the case here since the pull was strong and Pau was running.

For me the first highlight here shows exactly why we’ve struggled in recent years.

AWB hands over possession, in fairness after a hospital pass. But watch the recovery run. He’s ahead of 3 West Ham players…all of which sprint back past him to help defend. Whilst AWB is apparently jogging.

Not an exclusive pop at AWB but a generalisation that Utd players of recent years just don’t seem to have that desire to put the hard work in

His effort there is disgraceful. Has he just switched off? Was there never any reprimand to remind him of his responsibilities. I’m amazed at this clip

That was less of a foul than the fecking shirt tug pen. God, why do I bother

Slot’s head functioning as an additional floodlight.

TV obsessed with Villa's set piece coach. Was the same when we played them the other week.

When van Dijk gave away a corner then he gets up and pushes the villa attacker. Would have loved him to go down and win a pen.

I genuinely thought Liverpool were going to struggle without Klopp.

Please go back up the other end and give a pen.

That might be the biggest gift I've ever seen

Why is Villa's set piece coach acting like he's the manager? Sit down
