Premier League Gameweek 1

Does Cooper still set up for 20% possession away from home? You're going to struggle if so, and risk Danilo, Gibbs-White etc. getting fed up.

And you're still playing two championship CBs? That's brave.
We don’t have a choice at the moment - we’re after a decent number 6 (Sangare) but haven’t got one in yet. The tactics in preseason were a higher press / more possession but it’s work in progress.
Worrall was decent at the end of last season but in any case Niakhate and Felipe are injured.

My City mates are going mad claiming conspiracies. Apparently it’s not okay for Arsenal to play in front of thousands of empty seats but they’re forced to every week.

Might be quicker to go play the game at Nottingham

Will BT only show the first half since the second one will be played during the blackout? If not, what is the point of the blackout?

This is a pisstake really. They are putting the needs of the paying, matching-going fans over me, who is waiting to watch this on a second screen via an illegal stream.

Utter bulltshit.
It's worse for Forest, got to sit there in Arsenals dressing room waiting an extra hour so fans that will be hurling insults at them all day can get in.

Sure if it's the home teams fault they should start the game regardless of the situation, they don't deserve home advantage if they're so incompetent the fans can't get in.

From the Guardian:

This delay: A question to ponder – given the delay in this match’s kick-off time and the new directive for referees to add extra added time for goal celebrations and time-wasting, there is every possibility this game could end after 3pm … on a Saturday in the UK, when it is illegal to show live football between 3pm and 5.15pm. What happens to TNT’s maiden Premier Leaguebroadcast in that scenario? Hmmmm …

Hmmmmmm….. indeed

Sorry, you spent three paragraphs to basically offer zero evidence to dispute my statement.

Half of all titles have been won by one team.

Also, I do consider the 90s and 2000s uncompetitive because I'm not insecure about my league.
Alright, if you accept that the Premier League is also uncompetitive then fair enough. But then the initial "it took X billion" assertion was bollocks.

There's often Serie A games that start at 5pm but BT wouldn't show it until 5.15 so I think there might be a problem here with showing the end of the game?
What a joke if it does cut off

Even if thousands are still outside they'll probably have to go ahead and start at 1pm for player fitness. A 1-hour delay would be risky to their energy and certainly their performance. If it's not 1pm I imagine a postponement to another day is more likely than an additional 30-mins wait.

Them having to cut out the last few minutes would be the absolute best thing to happen if people want the 3pm blackout gone. It'll make the topic a huge talking point.

Especially considering it's TNTs first broadcast, I don't think they will cut it out, may have to face some legal problems if they do.

Seems like they were like feck it and just let everyone in without scanning the tickets.

Why in the hell is it illegal to show live football between 3 and 5.15 pm? :nervous:

They can’t even show the 5pm games in la liga or serie A, they just join the match 15 minutes in or whatever. If this runs past 3pm they’ll have no choice but to go black. It’ll be hilarious, but as duffer said, it’ll make it headline news which is only a good thing.

Why?

Forest still don't have an actual shirt sponsor?

Blackout is for games that commence at 3pm.

Agreed.

You know exactly what will happen though, the referee will be under strict instructions to ensure it doesn’t run past 3pm.

For a rando team with a billion, the best manager of all time to finally dominate the league.

The premier league has been uncompetitive for periods, not for sixty years.

Didn't you sign 200 players?

Because there was a worry that showing huge games on TV at that time would cause fewer people to attend games at the smaller clubs.
Do they have any proof that would be the case?
