Premier League Festive Season

Offside, more clear cut than the other ones at least.

Yet another bet VAR has killed though for me.

It's a joke of a rule. If you can't tell with naked eye and have to draw lines then it's not offside. It's an easy decision but they are making it hard for themselves. Somebody's toe being 1mm further forward isn't an advantage is it?

VAR to the rescue again for city. Corruption etc.

I really despise this Liverpool team. They aren't even that good. They just have suspiciously super human levels of fitness and are extremely lucky. Can't wait for them to be back down where they belong.

Me?
Im only quoting what we have been brought up being told buddy.
Google it if youre new.
Maybe VAR will even out in the long run huh? My favourite after a bad call was being told that it was acceptable because team a attacked so much..
No, you said that we had to factor in the rule that linesmen can't flag for offside any more so we'll never know for sure how many would have been missed. That's not true, they raise the flag once a goal is scored if they have seen any reason to disallow it in the build up. VAR check for things either way so it's nothing other than a mild ego massage for the official if he was right.

However, as I said in my original post that you disagreed with … very few, if any, of the micro-managed, millimetre off-sides given over the last two days were `actually spotted by the officials and the goals would have stood before VAR.

The only upside is it’s going to be amazing when they come crashing down.

agree mate.

just spoils the entire game.

VAR is for obvious errors. Not this computer graphics check.

Idiots.

19 games and more than half of those games Liverpool performances have been lacklustre this season.

A lucky side before the introduction of VAR and without VAR today that Liverpool goal wouldn't have stood and the Wolves goal chalked off would be allowed.

When we play well and win, we are the best team in the world and we’ll dominate for the next five years to come.
When we have an average display followed by a dubious VAR decision, we are thiefs who are only at the top because the referees are on our side.
Its becoming a little sad and pathetic now.

It's not black or white this argument, last season VAR sees you loose at West Ham for example due to an offside goal, this season VAR is helping you loads like ruling out City's winner against Spurs (and today obviously)
VAR also cost us a goal at Old Trafford as it showed that the ball hit Mane's hand. We've had goals ruled our for offside as well (Mane vs Everton) but because we've gone on to win the game, they haven't been highlighted as much.

Go ahead and prove that if you are so certain.

It's already been proven? The players toe was offside.

It does look like there was a handball from VVD in the build up to the goal though.

Edit. Having seen it from a different angle it hits VVD's chest, so both decisions today were correct.

It all evens out in the end. Swings and roundabouts. Plus ça change.

Record says otherwise. Another workmanlike performance. Comfortable and complete.

Well go join another forum then. Pretty simple really

VAR is always going to be controversial. One day your team will benefit from it, the other day it won’t.
Get used to it. No team do what Liverpool did this year by being corrupt.

Who do we want winning this game? City or Sheffield? I imagine Sheffield getting no points is better for us, but if we believe city could fall out of Fourth then a draw is best?

Liverpool fans on redcafe posting like they own the place. You can't make it up.
I’m glad they’ve all made new accounts to let us know VAR is fine, nothing to see here.

Unprecedented level of discrepancy between performances and results, coupled with absolute arrogance and delusion from the fans. You couldn't make it up.

Arrogance and delusion have been liverpool fan traits since as far back as I can remember. I'm talking my earliest memories of the first liverpool fans I ever knew involved me thinking what arrogant entitled delusional twats they were.

City won’t drop enough points for us to think about catching them. I’d rather Sheffield lost tbh.

A biased Liverpool fan.

That's a new one.

It's a weird one both teams don't look like battling for top 4 come end of season. Mancity have much more quality that teams below and Sheffield lack a bit from the teams around them.

However always want city to lose so Sheffield all the way.

Yeah only this one was clearly offside.
No It wasn't. It was the same margins as the wolves offside goal.

You can say VAR is screwing every body with this fine margins but enough with this Liverpool corruption conspiracy ffs! It has ruled out many Liverpool goals this season and it just literally benefited man city few minutes ago.
