Premier League Festive Season

They use a thicker line when determining the positioning of the last defender and attacker, giving more leeway for stupidly tight decisions
Ah right, seems eminently sensible! Always trust German engineering :)

Have NO clue why VAR doesn't cover factual mistakes like corners at least. It can determine the course of a game.

Well not for us, we terrible at corners!
Because every corner/throw in would have to be checked to make sure it was the correct call. The game would end up being 3 hours long. IMO if we went down that road, we might as well do away with actual referees and have everything covered by VAR and one person on the sidelines dishing out cards when needed

I hear you, but man it's frustrating to see wrong calls made every single game. Guess it's the part of football one has to accept and move on!

I agree with you on that and as a referee myself, I'm guilty almost every game of going the wrong way with at least one throw or corner/goal kick. It's a pain when it goes against you but I think we have enough VAR for everyone right now ;)

Is Burnley from rugby league? Absolutely shocking contacts allowed... no contact at all or catastrophic contacts only?

An interesting day today; three draws please Santa.

Don't want Arsenal to win for the confidence boost it'll give them going into Wednesday.

I know this will affect our chances of a potential top 4 place but I just cant stand Arsenal. So its 'come on Chelsea ! ' from me.

Lamps sticking with the same formation that worked against Spurs but was shite against Southampton.

Interesting to see Tariq Lamptey on the bench. He's an English 19 year old who has been with us since U7 level. Really pacy right back/winger.

Pulisic, Alonso, James & RLC all injured.

edit: Guendouzi is on 4.. and Xhaka

ideal world.. he gets a booking.. Xhaka comes on and gets a yellow too..
and a couple of others get red.

After Christmas, the yellow card limit is now extended to 8 bookings for a suspension.

Torreira will be the man to cover the defense and get a booking

When did it change..
It used to be 5 till 31st Dec. and then 10 after that.

A commentator on NBC said it was 8 yesterday. I’ve just checked online and everything still refers to 10. Silly me for listening to an American.

However, it’s 5 up to gameweek 19. We are now in gameweek 20 so no Arsenal players are at risk.

Very intrigued to see how Arsenal respond to their new manager..
