How do you define where a player's arm/shoulder starts exactly? It's impossible to do this accurately up to 1 mm like they are trying to do here.

Sorry about that.I’m not that’s B20, I have no idea why he’s cheering for them either.
That annoys the hell out of me too.but we can't see the ball on that picture... I would think thats important
It will always be millimetres regardless of where you put the line. Push line forward and it pulls in the clear offsides we have now into the too close category.
Linesman always looked for millimeters, its just now we dont get mistakes.
Maybe that angle (with the ball in it) shows Pukki clearly off.but we can't see the ball on that picture... I would think thats important

In the Norwich game.. it was pretty far from the crowd too..Where? I love my phone way too much to do that![]()
they are playing???So am I the only one here watching West Ham vs Leicester?
What strategy do the Germans use mate? These hairline offside goals being disallowed could all be resolved by copying the VAR strategy for offsides in Germany. I mean they've had 2 more seasons with the technology so why not just emulate them? Because the PL are so stubborn that they want to dictate how it's finally going to be used universally. Pathetic
It’s obvious, that’s why. When we’re shown a line on the telly we’re assuming that it’s done at the point the ball was played.Everyone is focused on the line, but what about the connection with the ball?
Say there is 60 frames-per-second, who determines which frame is selected for the ball contact?
I don’t see that ever being discussed. Seems everyone is focused on the line, shoulder being offside etc but the ball contact is just as important.
We are talking millimetres here but what technology is being used to analyse the very first contact with players foot to play the ball forward before the line is imposed on the screen.
Yes. The same time, but not on our TV.they are playing???
yes you are
We arent seeing what thegy are! Sky doesnt broadcast in the resolution VAR uses.Everyone is focused on the line, but what about the connection with the ball?

Look at those lines... How do they even know that they are 100% straight?
How do they know where to put the reference line at the exact right spot on the body? In that picture it almost look like Toby's shoulder is even further down than his knee. Have they even stopped it at the exact right frame?
A tenth of a second later Toby is clearly lower than Pukki. The attackers advantage of that millimeter is clearly none existing.
Erickson scoresNorwich can’t hold onto a lead though
