Premier League Festive Season

They're only meant to change the ruling if it was a clear and obvious error. What was clear and obvious about his nose hair maybe being offside?
For offsides there is no such thing as clear and obvious error. It's onside or offside, rules suck but they are what they are

These hairline offside goals being disallowed could all be resolved by copying the VAR strategy for offsides in Germany. I mean they've had 2 more seasons with the technology so why not just emulate them? Because the PL are so stubborn that they want to dictate how it's finally going to be used universally. Pathetic

That’s a bollocks decision. The kind of thing that ruins the game. Would any fan feel hard done by if that decision went against them?

Those lines they draw up seem super arbitrary. They’ll make them look how they need them to.

VAR have said it is because he came back from an offside position. To me it should only be when the ball is actually passed to him. It is infuriating.

Have to say I'm watching less and less football now because VAR has sucked the joy out of it for me. Not watching tonight's game so can't comment on the actual decision, but my girlfriend thinks VAR is a wonderful thing. :D

50 yards onside and they have to do the daft var check and draw their neanderthal lines to purposefully make it look offside. Feck var.

Joke. A clear and obvious joke.
I’m almost certain refs are being shite at VAR so it gets scrapped

So, an inconsequential limb was hurting out a few inches past the last body part of a defender, yet the rest of the attacker’s body was behind it. That’s offsides? Any body part beyond that line? That’s fecking insane.
Any part of your body that you can score with, as you can score with your armpit it’s offside

you can write it every time, but clear and obvious error doesn't involve offside.

It's offside or it isn't offside.
Exactly this. Every time same comments. Is goal regular? No!! So basically people want that irregular goals stand. :nervous:

I swear some of these goals are getting ruled out by VAR refs as it fecks up their accumulators...
When has coming back from a offside position before the ball has been played resulted in a offside, I swear that only existed with the old offside rule

Sure.

ITs gone too far the other way, now that they have this technology, these assholes are looking at the minutiae to overrule a goal.

Pretty sure it wasn’t lined up with a body part that could legally score a goal anyway. Bullshit. Utter utter bullshit
