Premier League Festive Season (Gameweek 18-20)

Arsenal are playing some lovely football.

Would take us a generation to have us playing football against Liverpool at Anfield like this

Willy let me down earlier, hopefully Arse can come up clutch and save the day.

that’s a penalty, the fact that he’s slipped should be irrelevant. If you slip when running and take somebody’s legs, you'd still expect a penalty to be given.

I genuinely cannot believe that penalty has not been given.

He slips because he’s trying to block the ball. It’s a pen for feck sake

Hilarious seeing every Liverpool player stop and appeal - reminds me of us! I think he got away with it because he slipped and therefore arm wasn't in an unusual position (although I recall penalty being given against Pogba for that)

Rice was such an obvious signing that would have fixed an issue for years, and Utd didn't do it, while wasting so much elsewhere.

Odegaard is such a wonderful footballer.

I remember when Arsenal signed him on loan in Jan 2021 and people were genuinely wondering how he'd fit into their team. Arsenal were in the bottom half at the time.

That's exactly the sort of central midfielder Man. United need given Eriksen obviously can't do it week in week out anymore compared to about five years ago.
Let's not forget the whole "loaning players from Madrid and Barca is a small club mentality" :wenger:

Think we went for him from all the reports I’ve heard, we were just busy spending his fee on Onana and Mount and had nothing left

Do some on here still think Rice isn’t good enough for us?
I had to laugh in the summer when people said that - he just gets on with his game and isn't flashy so it isn't noticed as much. if we'd got the three players I wanted in the summer (a dream I know), we'd be right up there: Martinez (Villa), Rice and kane

It is. You don’t see them loaning players now do you?
They’re well run now, that’s why

Its 100% a penalty, but the refs don't even look at it.

Bruno's his direct counterpart positionally at United.... United would want Rice first. He's a smooth player though, for sure, but I don't think United improve all that much with his signing, given the wealth of issues around that position.

I think for certain situations you could drop him into 8 position. That was basically the ETH plan with Mount start of season but gulf of difference between Mount and Odegaard from a technical point of view.

Eriksen still has quality on the ball but mobility a big issue against high pressing midfields.

You’ll not see a more obvious example of making yourself bigger by sticking out your arms.

Yeah, some don’t realise you need the build block players who do their jobs very well every game.

They should have been doing it 2 years ago, avoid the whole De Jong and Cas chase.

Fair play to Odegaard
It felt like after the Real Madrid move, he was destined to be one of the “what could have been” wonder kids

I'd even consider trying to get Ramsdale on loan in January... Onana is never going to be good enough: French Clown MkII
