Premier league boxing day fixtures

A case of the (marginally) better team losing? I reckon so. Lets see the other top teams go to the Etihad and make them work this hard at home.

Arsenal tried, we know that.

You were not the better team. Just creating chances does not make one better. Finishing is a big part of the game.

I genuinely think City's defensive line is so awful that linesmen just assume it must be offside when player after player gets in on goal.

We had two goals chalked off for it, Swansea had one, Liverpool today. They're just not reading it properly.

Pool down to 4th, crazy title talk stopped, chance of slipping out the top 4 next game.

Some kind of normality resumed.

A peno on Suarez could have been whistled but then again Skrtel also did that horrible shirt pull in the penalty box, Sterling was poor I thought. Suarez showed he's more than a goalscorer.

I don't think Suarez went for Hart, but he knew the ref might react to the crowd's reaction. Fair play to Hart for not making a fuss either.

Will the DVD be available before the weekend?

Liverpool did well on the counter-attack but it's like playing 12 men when City are at home.

Naah, I think he was being sly. He didn't know where the ball would be but he knew Hart was coming.

Gutting result when a draw or even a win was there for a taking, however it was a very good performance without 3 of our regular starters. I think City will probably win the league anyway so it is nothing to be ashamed of, it was also the the hardest game City have had at the Etihad this season.

Decent results for us. Could have been better, let's see what happens this weekend. Best case, we'll be 5th, 2 points off the 4th place, 7 points off the first place. A couple of interesting rounds and we can aspire to do better than the current target of 4th placed finish.

I don't think so, more that he had to be seen to try to reach the ball. There was no contact of any note and he got booked, so no harm done really. If he really wanted to catch Hart he could have quite easily.

Only Chelsea are left now anyway and champions league opponents if they get past Barca. Oh and best no forget the cups too...but in terms of the league they've done their job at home. 3 points in all the games against last seasons top 4 excluding Chelsea. 3 points against Liverpool and Everton.

A Liverpool supporting friend has to taken to facebook to declare that Liverpool has in fact defeated Citeh, but the bribing officials has seen to it that the points have been awarded to City.

Why can't we buy some points then, get to feck Glazers.

League yes, but Bayern smashed 'em at Etihad. Granted Bayern way up here, all others a few levels below. Hull put up a good fight early in the season.

Hilarious. Did you ask how much Rodgers paid to keep Skrtel from conceding two blatant pens?

Who gives a shit, you get zero points.

I wasn't expecting a win, but I care that we came away looking like a top team and not the walkovers city have made the rest of the league look like.

On current evidence, that was the two best teams in the league on show today. I feel more optimistic about the chelsea game now than earlier today.

You raised your game and it wasn't enough.

Current "form " yes. I think arsenal are better than your lot. Chelsea were a tough one to judge.

Yea, but your game against chelsea is not being played today though.

If Aguero was playing vs your team like he did in all the other match then the scoreline would have been much different. There isn't much positive after a loss like that when you could have drawn the game, I'd be gutted if I were a Liverpool fan tonight.

I think that's a bit harsh. But for a dodgy offside decision it could easily have been a draw. Few teams will have that amount of possession at the Etihad, albeit yeah they lost. I was actually surprised how much of a game they made of it.

Fair, but feck 'em, right?

That's some mouth given how you got dicked. We put in a very good performance against the best team in the league away from home.

The level we showed will be enough to do away other teams.

Congrats. A cup is on it's way to you.

It wasn't against Hull.

Liverpool impressed me a lot

Same. Truth is they deserved pts if not all 3 with the Primeraesque offside call in the 1st half and the Alexis level miss from Sterling. Suarez, a complete & utter douche but fantastic talent.

City have the best attack in the Premiership and it's only December, we'll see what they'll look like in Spring but my money would be on them winning the league title. Their front attacking 6 are the most fluid offense I've seen this season, in any league. Defensively? I think they are ripe for getting scored on like a cheap hooker.

Me too, didn't expect such a good performance. If they were more lucky, including the referee decisions, they could have won the game. Still, I expect Chelsea to beat them, too. They have improved a lot though.
