Premier League 14/1/25 - 20/1/25

Great day for Liverpool. When Liverpool were 0-0 in injury time, Arsenal could have ended this day 2 points behind and now, this.

It's a really weird season this. So many underperforming sides.
If by that you mean absolute shite, then yeah.

Just been a good but not particularly special Liverpool side walking to the league while everyone else falls over their own feet.

I don't want Liverpool winning the league, I also don't want this scummy overhyped Arsenal team lead by a total twat of a manager to win it either.

If Liverpool equal our title tally, it isn't because City haven't won the league, it isn't because a dislikable Arsenal team are total bottlers. It is because we have been absolute shite since Sir Alex retired and haven't come close once.

Come on Forest!

Great second half from us.

Amuses me how much the Arsenal fans genuinely hate Martinez. All being 2nd/3rd choice for nearly a decade and being farmed out to countless lower league clubs for nothing seemingly.

I prefer seasons like this. Much rather this than two teams finishing on 95 points or even worse the top 6 miles clear of 7th so there's a real lack of motivation around March/April.

Bar probably 3-4 teams every team in the league is fighting for something currently.

Well Dibu uses such stuff as fuel, so it's dumb to play that card from them anyway

 I think there's still been fun games and it's interesting when different teams are in contention for Europe etc., but aye, some really really poor performances pretty much every matchday.

Arsenal’s margin for error reduces as well. Even if we dropped a few more they’d need to be perfect.

Hard to see as things stand.

Yep, I have and continue to believe Arsenal have a strong but today was definitely a big blow to their chances. Today basically means they've not made any gains on Liverpool in this run of 8 games where Liverpool have dropped points 4 times.

Not to mention they need to catch up and pull ahead considering they've to go to Anfield.

Nunez.

Should have been given a red at Anfield 2 weeks ago - this would have been his 3rd game ban.

Also should have been sent off today. Ref bottled it again
Thanks.

Annoying as it is, everyone knows Liverpool benefit from refereeing decision's.

Liverpool winning late was bad enough.
Arsenal Throwing 2-0 away also bad.

Waiting for about 15mins to get fotmob/ Internet signal in deepest Gloucester to find out the final score even worse..

But a 3-2 Arsenal late winner notification and THEN finding out it finished 2-2 was just too much.

Genuinely don’t mind it. At least Liverpool’s song is steeped in history and their stadium isn’t named after an airline. Arsenal fans are proper insufferable nowadays and I can’t help but enjoy them bottling it. They’re a glorified Spurs. Nearlymen.

Liverpool getting a free ride to the title isn't nice but at least it's on the back of Arteta's persistence of playing a unnamed 31 year old Premier League footballer no matter what and it consistently costing him points. That twat of a man not winning is not a bad thing for me.

Without encouraging discussion and ending it here. I agree. :)

Liverpool just have too many goals not to win the league. If any one of their front 3 aren’t firing, they have another couple of instant options who will score. It’s the reason why we find ourselves floundering in the bottom half whilst they’re walking the league. Simple game really.

We have a really poor recent record against Spurs but this is really a golden chance to play them. They're on a terrible run of form and apparently have loads of players missing including Solanke.

Why am I injecting hope...

Brentford was rubbish today, playing at home just 38% possession and gave up near 40 shots on goal, icing on the cake for them was conceding two goals late on to a Donkey. As I said before the game they got Brentford at the best possible time, 1 win in 9 games for them now.
Liverpool been lucky to get everyone just at teh right time, but in all seriousness, perhaps the 38% possession for Brentford and 38 shots for Liverpool was partly due to Liverpool being very good

Also, it's 2 wins and 2 draws in 9 for Brentford, where they played Newcastle, City, Arsenal, Liverpool, Forest and Chelsea, difficult fixture list that

I think Ange is in trouble today if he loses. He came into the league a breath of fresh air. Now he just looks miserable and defensive all the time. This league destroys managers.

MGW has really impressed me last week and already these 12min today.

You can always count on Spurs to cheer you up. They're so consistent
