Premier League 14/1/25 - 20/1/25

Question for United fans, how many of these players can Amorim keep and work with next season?

Feels like you’ve gone for a manger who can’t work with most of them within his desired set up.

If Wolves lose tomorrow we could have a 4 point cushion and game in hand still. Will be nice.

Still 10 points above 18th place/relegation zone.

Yoro, Maguire, Martinez, Ugarte, Amad and Bruno are all guaranteed to work with Amorim under this system next season. He seems to like Mount as well but that's irrelevant as he can't stay fit.

Ugarte, Martinez, De Ligt, Amad, Maz, Dalot, Yoro, Bruno.

There are players there but some of it depends on how they’re used. Ideally you’d want Maz and Dalot to be more squad players or for the RCB role, Yoro is more one for the future and I wouldn’t write off Mainoo just yet.

A lot of work to be done, particularly in the forward areas.

They've got the green light about the charges. Unbeaten from here out? Stopping Liverpool?
Unbeaten won’t cut it. They would almost have to win out. Which gives them around 86 points I guess. Liverpool would then need to get 36 points in 17 games.

You probably wouldn't buy many of them to play his set up. I think most of the players you'd want to keep are pretty flexible and well rounded or they perform regardless of how perfect the system is for them (Bruno). So i'm not sure it changes much. Squeezes Garnacho out a bit, any others it doesn't suit or aren't playing you'd want to move on regardless.

The run has begun, they will go out of the CL and bulldoze the rest of the league campaign

If City hadn't thrown away the game against Brentford, I'd genuinely believe they're capable of some sort of title charge. As it stands, they're just too far behind. Think they'll comfortably finish Top 4 though.

Yeah they’d have to win every game they have left to hit 86. For us to hit that I think we’d need 12 wins from 17.

Arsenal and Forest can now finish on 92 points maximum. We can finish on 101. Realistically I think Forest and Arsenal can afford to drop another 6 points. Anything more than that and I think we’ll finish above both.

City have to win every game.

Not sure we can write away the issues just yet. They were at full display against Brentford. Ipswich just isn't Premier League standard. Improvements here and there though

What an absolute dog of a weekend for results. Apart from the Newcastle Bournemouth game and Forests win every other result was just terrible.

We caught Newcastle in 1996, that was 12 points. If they suddenly decide to go on a run like we know they can, it could be back on.
Ye but that relies on Liverpool dropping points. They don’t look like they will lose anytime soon.

I don’t think they’ve been as good as their points tally suggests, just depends if it’s sustainable in the second half of the season. Shame there’s no Afcon for Salah to go to.

They have been almost precisely as good as their points tally so far. Understat.com has their expected points almost exactly equal to their actual points.

This. Highest goal scored and fewest conceded too. We’ve been the best side in the league so far.

At the end of our game today the Spurs players went over to their fans aside from Richarlison who did his own lap of honour to say goodbye to Goodison Park.
