Premier League 01/02/25 - 03/02/25

This is a bit unusual even by those standards. Realistically, they were promoted too soon and should be focusing on building a squad that can be promoted again in two years and then stay up.
I know it happened a bit quickly for them and they need to realise that, but it is also right that teams are too quick to give the players that got them promoted a chance and it all going wrong.

Today was the one day that I thought we might get a bit of drama in the title race and Liverpool would drop points. It’s just not happening is it!? They’re relentless.

Arsenal have to win tomorrow to keep even the slightest hope alive.

Nope.

I didn’t mention the “United bias” to him. I saw a name of a former Liverpool player and a complete lack of self awareness with a pinch of self righteousness so I mistook him for a Liverpool supporter.
It's a common mistake honestly, but Dirk Kuyt is more a Feyenoord icon than a Liverpool icon.

I fecking hate Dirk Kuyt by the way.

I think if Arsenal drop points tomorrow and we beat Everton, it’s probably over.

Another week, another 3 points won by corruption and luck. You love to see it.

It won't happen unless managers start speaking about it.
It's scandalous that nobody has. For all the moaning Arteta does about his games, you'd think he'd mention what happens in the Liverpool games. Refs do get influenced by them things. I remember Klopp talked about refs in our games. We got no decisions after that.

Salah is just so good. I think everyone really needs to step back and recognize just how lucky we all are to live in the age of Salah.

You can always stand on the edge of the cliff, then you can "step back and recognize just how lucky you are to live in the age of Salah"

Hihihihihihi

Cunha definitely passes the eye test for me, hope we're in for him this summer.

Comms keep waffling on about the danger of playing a CM as a CB, ignoring the fact that Kamara has played about 70 matches in that position.

I like this version of Wolves so much more than the one under Nuno. They are almost always a great watch.
Just came here to say this
If Amorim can get a decent tune from our lot could be entertaining.
On another note their striker should have a hatrick by now.
He's making good runs which we lack

Yep they've been quite entertaining this season under both coaches. Cunha is this year's breakout attacker, hope we get him.

He is really good. I like how he doesn't hesitate to use his left foot to cross/pass

Yup, beyond the flair, he puts in a shift and isn't really afraid to get stuck in. Combination of technical ability and physical profile -- what we need more than anything. Guys like Bruno, Garnacho and Amad can put in a shift but opposition players can quite easily shrug them off when they're building from the back.

As Arteta says, you must win your duels. Modern footballing systems have basically canceled each other out. You can no longer rely on being better drilled than the opponent and create numerical superiorities and neat passing triangles all over the pitch. Matches hinge on each little 1v1 duel. If you win your duel on build up, you're creating a good transition opportunity. If you win your duel when you're pressing, you create a turnover and a chance again. When the team creates a 1v1 for you as an attacker if you win that duel, it's likely a goal.

I think players like Cunha are worth their weight in gold in this new meta.

They can’t say he’s not interfering when it was quite clearly part of the set piece routine to block the defender.

Offside for sure, he holds the defender, even if it's soft it's impacting the defender.

Rodgers in an offside position has impeded Semedo, regardless of what the numpty on comms is saying.
