Predict the date the Ole gets Sacked

We got lucky. Spurs had injuries, Arsenal in transition, Leicester lost their form after the re-start, Chelsea had a transfer ban. They have all made amends for this now. And Everton have stepped into the mix with Wolves and Leeds. I we make top 4 this season, I will be astounded.

I agree. We got lucky that teams were in those positions. But as they were in those positions, and we knew that they were, we should be finishing ahead of them. With the squad we have, it should be expected that we come third in my opinion.

I look forward to the same thread on our new manager in a couple seasons ala Moyes, Van Gaal, Mourinho and Ole. Rinse and repeat. The club is rotten from higher up. Astonishes me how some still give the ownership a free pass and blame multiple managers.

I don't think anyone gives the ownership a free pass.

I know it’s only an opinion piece but Michael Cox wrote an interesting article in the Athletic yesterday entitled “New Signings Won’t Rescue Manchester United - better coaching would”. I like Ole and there are spells where it looks like he’s got us purring. The trouble he has seems to be sustaining it. This is where I suspect that a top drawer coach/manager might do better. Poch seems to be the flavour of the month, which I understand, and I’m starting to think we maybe need someone to squeeze more out of this group. The first three games this season have been so much worse than than you’d expect if it was just down to pre season fitness.

Regardless of those of the fan base that think everything about United is shite, we do have some really talented players in the squad (and a fair few still not good enough I know) and a really fantastic coach would relish setting them up, changing up tactics and formations as well as using their in-game management skills. We seem to be so much worse than the sum of our parts generally. It just feels like it’s becoming inevitable, particularly with Poch still without a job. That cannot be coincidence.

You only have to look at a squad like Southampton and how well drilled they look even if their squad is arguably worse than ours man for man. That is coaching to a style to play better than the sum of their parts and there are plenty of other examples around Europe.

Ole has done an awful lot right but maybe it’s time to step aside before it’s too late. I’d actually prefer to see him step upstairs into a DF or link to the board/transfer team type role because he certainly appears to get what United is all about. Just not sure he can get us to that next level with his coaching based on the patterns and performances.

Shots on target doen't include hitting the post. If they had better strikers, they would have hammered us.

Im aware mate. Hitting the post amounts to as much as hitting the corner flag.

The performance against Tottenham was no different to that against Brighton; it is just that Tottenham have much better finishers and punished us.

Do you expect us to start losing by 5 or 6 every week?

It was a freak result for feck sake. People on here are losing their shit.

Another option being mentioned is that of bringing in an expert coach and leave Ole with man management issues - similar to when Fergie brought in Meuleensteen or Quieroz. ,(If coaching is the issue)

The Fixture list has not been kind.

20/10 PSG
24/10 Chelsea
28/10 Leipzig
01/11 Arsenal
04/11 Away to Istanbul
07/11 Everton

Pressure will mount if results don't come. I fear for Ole

Not a bad idea either in fairness...

Ohh my, we are going to get slaughtered by pretty much all of those team if we don't somehow regain form ASAP

Can I borrow your red tinted glasses?

You need a DOF who has overall charge of footballing matters to override Ole and make that call. Oh wait...

Yep this has been talked about a few times on here over the last year or so really. I just think we desperately need some fresh ideas when it comes to training and how we player. It seems obvious we need an injection of something new, some more expertise.

I don't know the date but I bet he'll leave with a smile on his face.

It may or may not be a freak result, but you cant deny we were played off the park 3 premier games on the trot.

No where have i said we aren't playing poorly, we look like a team still struggling for fitness and form.

Good idea, but the game has moved on since Meuleensteen and Quieroz and they are pretty far down the coaching pecking order now. We have a lot of people supporting Ole, already. Phelan is the experienced head, and Carrick and McKenna are modern day coaches, because they only recently finished playing. Carrick was an intelligent footballer, and I'm sure he is a decent coach. If motivation is the problem, then this needs to come from within. From the players, the captain. We have seen Ole transform the team from the dreary pragmatic Mourinho side, to the team that beat all of their closest rivals last season and finished 3rd. He was able to motivate us then, so lets see what these new signings can bring to the morale of the team. I'm looking forward to seeing Telles tearing up the wing and rasping shots at goal. It's been a long time since we had a full back like that.

Not going to put a date on it. I don't think that's the right thing to do. Ole clearly knows his job will be on the line if results don't turn around. Maybe, now that the transfer window is closed and he's got 2 weeks to reset, assess his squad and get away from the press for a bit (while the internationals are on) he'll finally figure out that we have started a new season. I mean lets face it, it seems the lead up to this season hasn't exactly gone smoothly, plus the added distraction of the window.

And you will forget him extremely quickly once a new and more competent manager comes in the door. I look forward to the day when that happens and people on here smile a bit more when watching games and see plans, chemistry, patterns and United trashing other teams.

Worked great when we sacked someone to get Van Gaal and Mourinho in...

I fear for him after the bad start and tough month ahead. If we get to the middle of November in the bottom half if the table I think he’s gone sadly.

We sold 1 player all summer with a squad bloated by utter dross. We didn't get a single first choice signing from the list Ole submitted.

We need to make sure Ole gets the support of the fans and turn on the board when it goes to shite.

It was dreadful transfer window. No question about that.
The weird thing is that people in this thread are worshipping at Woodward's altar. Apparently it was a fantastic window.
I can only think that they are rival supporters or know little about football.
We definitely missed a chance to close the gap to 1st place.

Regarding Ole being sacked - I think he'll go once top 4 becomes impossible, so next March.
If he does really really badly, then December will be his end.

i hope so but if we take another battering or 2 like yesterday who knows.

Yeah too many more batterings and the board could pull the trigger before the champions league football thing is out of reach, of course if we end up finishing third in group then will go into europa league and his stay of execution will last until we are knocked out of that competition.

EW and the board is the problem, not the manager. We saw great improvement last season after Bruno came in, now we need Sancho but EW with crew is just not backing the manager!

Says to me that in public he is backing him but behind the scenes he's clearly talking to Poch, wouldn't surprise me if that's who Woody was texting at the game on Sunday

Hell be gone if he keeps that midfielders shape. I know the defense was bad but believe the team perform better defensively and offensively with different set up.
I'm sure that he gonna change to 532 with current transfer and coming fixtures and we are not as bad as we think.

MR - AM (MG)
POGBA(VDB) BRUNO
FRED(MATIC)
OR.
BRUNO(VDB)
FRED. Mc TOMMY
With back 5, Telles as LWB, Shaw LCB and maybe Williams as RWB too.

That probably brings solidity and goals also. The formation may suit our midfielders as well and allow Ole to rotate and keep them all fresh.

If poch is telling Ed he can win stuff with this group of players he’s either lying or deluded! If Ole gets sacked we start the merry go round again. It’s pointless. I hope we just keep Ole and get our football business handed over to a recruitment and contract expert. Maybe hire a few top coaches? They would be the best signings we could make as a club.

Unfortunately I cannot see either of those things happening

Come on. He hasn't been backed in the market. Its Woodword out and Glazers Out. Not him. He is not the reason why we are performing so Poorly
Mmm he's not entirely blameless. You say not been backed in the transfer window when half of the defence is made up of players he wanted. They cost a combined £130 million? They've just shipped 11 goals in 3 games. Either the players are shite that he asked for or his coaching ability has made them worse. Whichever way he has to shoulder some of the blame for inept performances.,

Thursday, October 29th after RB Leipzig hands us our 5th straight loss.
We're not getting a single point in October fellas, 5 straight losses, rofl!

A Dof forcing backroom staff on a manager is trouble. It's on Ole to revamp his staff and drop this old boys club style.

Not entirely true, Mourinho was the one who wanted Maguire but did not get him in the 2018 Summer transfer window, Maguire was totally bought by Ed because Mourinho was "crying" for a player like Maguire.
Mourinho was fired and then Harry Maguire was purchased afterwards. That being said, we will never know if AWB was on Ole's shortlist or not, I highly doubt he was.

Do we really trust the board to make a smart hire if/when Ole is sacked? I mean.....his appointment in the first place was bizarre. Jose was exactly as advertised. LVG might have been the one who needed more time, but I couldn’t stand the football. The other guy.....can’t think of his name. Anyway, Ole’s never been qualified for the job, but I just don’t trust whoever makes these decisions to make a smart one.

I still strongly believe Man Utd would be much stronger now if Mourinho had not been sacked. Unfortunately the club chose to side with Pogba and threw Jose under the bus despite being United's most successful manager since Fergie. To make matters worse, Pogba is now playing some of his worst football since he joined Juve.

Two trains of thought:

1. Ole won't get sacked, as he lets the board and upper management get away with murder when it comes to recruitment by not publicly kicking up a fuss. Publicly, he's a "Yes" man in every regard, it seems. Who knows what goes on behind closed doors? But that's largely irrelevant, as it's all about saving face and embarrassment, and Ole doesn't do that. He doesn't call the shitters out above him, and they just keep on going.

2. He takes the fall, like the others, from fecking horrendous decisions made by those above that are beyond his control.

I wouldn't trust this board as far as I could throw them when it comes to appointing managers.

That is why I want Woody & Judge to get booted and a DOF to appoint the next manager, however that isn't going to happen unfortunately.

Pathetic thread.

Only United internet supporters would do this after a couple of bad results.

Sancho was obviously his top pick, every reputable journo said it - regardless of whether they thought it would happen or not. There's no doubt about that one.

Grealish was widely known for a while, although VDB makes way more sense.

And there's a video of Ole saying to Ake after a match that we were looking for a CB.
