Predict the date the Ole gets Sacked

I don't think anyone can say he hasn't been backed. He has now spent £300m, the highest average spend per summer for any of our managers. He has to start showing something for the investment or out you go.

If we come back from the national break and look the same, I think he should go.

I have been critical of Ole but these kinds of threads should not be here.

Thread brings back haunting memories of Newcastle away last season when Brucie brought out the Longstaff brothers to kill us off 1-0 if I recall, low hard shot in the corner, every game looked and was tough with Ole on the thinnest sheet of ice.

I think the team that finished third and didn't lose a game in the restart will get up and running soon, the big problem will be near the end and not finishing in the top 4. Teams around us are improving.

Whats Klopp and Guardiola won? You are joking right?
Of course but what I was saying was that if Ole managed City to the 5-2 loss or Liverpool to the 7-2 loss it would be a crises and his head. Yesterday was a freak result. There’s a lot of doom a gloom around the club at the monent.

I agree with that, it seems in poor taste. Ole got fecked over by Ed, Judge and the rest of the incompetent board. I feel bad for the guy

It definitely wasn't. Brighton should have gotten six or more against us and Palace also could have had more. Ole's papering over the cracks has just unfortunately come to an end.

£300m. Shit. Doesn’t buy much does it.

So you think Ole wasn't aware that we were going to pay 80 mill for Maguire, before we actually paid it? That Ole didn't have the option to say "no, that's way too much for Maguire, lets sign a cheaper option, and we'll invest the remaining money elsewhere"?

Stop acting like Ole was some naïve idiot here who didn't give his greenlight for those moves. I mean Ole definitely is clueless when it comes to many things, but he's not that naïve

Do you really think a manger has a say in what a club pays for a player hahaa my god you are either naive or stupid . Again a manager gives his targets to the club and Woodward and co do the rest .
I've seen many stupid things on here but trying to pin United paying 80 mil for Maguire on Ole is nothing short of hilarious.

Having just seen our next 7 fixtures, I really feel for Ole. I'm struggling to see how he gets through this run unscathed?

1. Newcastle (A)
2. PSG (H)
3. Chelsea (H)
4. Leipzig (H)
5. Arsenal (H)
6. Istanbul (H)
7. Everton (A)

Its very possible we win maximum 1, if not 2 games from this run...

I think what was meant was that the score line was freakish. Which it definitely was. If we lose 6-1 every week then it won’t be freakish any more, when it happens only once it is freakish.

True, but us losing 6-1 based on our performances since the start of the season isn't freakish at all. We've been incredibly poor by any standard.

I am Ole out, have been for a very long while, but the club have thrown him under the bus. At the end of the day, Ole got us 3rd, he should of been backed so we can see what he can do with a proper right winger but our board are so useless, they have literally put him in the rain to get washed up. I feel for Ole right now in every single way, he may be useless in my opinion, but he deserved to be backed after getting us 3rd last year. Now all he has is Telles, Cavani and DVB which will not change anything.

For the Glazer type of ownership to succeed it rests on having an extremely gifted and driven manager who can get the best from his players and one who is willing to work with what he has. I love Ole but nothing he has done suggests that he is what we need. The group seem fragile. There doesn't seem to be a system or style to buy in to. I appreciate Ole promotes a Man Utd mentality but when that's not backed by the board the players lose faith. Fergie had unquestionable man management skills to keep players engaged with the mentality. Ole rarely even fights for them on the touch line. Its not the right fit. Klopp, Simeone, Zidane, Mourihno, Pep, Fergie, Ancelotti..... they all showcase presence they get on the touch line and demand performance.

We have. But as many on here have said, there’s a lot of ragged teams and equally bad performances just now. We do expect better of course.

Yeah. I’ve been looking at that. We are fecked if we keep playing as we have been. Could go through that whole run without a win. Ole wouldn’t survive that, no way. But let’s just play the games. We might have a pleasant surprise.

The glimmer of hope right now is that Ole has repeatedly got big results when he's gone through a rocky patch. I just find it hard to see how we put a consistent run of wins through that period with Martial missing for a few of them as well.

Fundamentally, the acquisition of Sancho wouldn't have changed much to the bottom line of our performances. I know people want to believe that we're just one player from clicking and suddenly playing dominating, free-scoring football with aesthetically pleasing viewing, but I'm of the mind that greater managers can squeeze more out of our current squad in terms of general play than Ole and his coaching team can. Whatever player we sign, we're still going to be limited by Ole's lack of experience and/or his lack of coaching credentials (and that of his backroom staff).

He'll last until December, as per other manage's have.

Anyone saying Ole out needs to go and support Arsenal instead.

We can't keep sacking managers. Ole bleeds for United. You give him time. Plus its not him doing the transfers. It's Woodard playing real life FIFA who doesn't know squat about football. He's a business man.

Last season the players all pulled together and pushed for top 4. They will do it again. They are just tired and mentally broken. Well that's my feeling. The end of the season wasn't that long ago. Look at the other results that has happened in the last 3 weeks from every other team. They are mental.

It's a friggin long way until the end of the season. God we are only 3 games in. Relax guys.

Agree

Ideally it would have been when the season was postponed for COVID, now I'll take it after this run of tough games and we're ultimately at our lowest.

This is a troll post right?

Why does it even matter what he did as a player? Literal definition of nepotism if we forgive his shortcomings because of some dumb nostalgia. I dunno how he can be smiling after getting dismantled 6-1 if he loves the club so much.

You're right, there are plenty of issues with the club. Ideally we fire Woodward/hire a DOF (we aren't getting new owners so no reason to even entertain that) and that new person hires someone competent to manage the squad. Absolutely no reason to keep a manager who is clearly out of his depth. It's like watching moyes all over again except Ole gets passes because he played here.

It's a weird one, we finished 3rd after a brilliant run from January. The boost from signing Bruno gave us that spark we needed. The opportunity was there this transfer window to try and close the gap on Liverpool and City. We could've signed the likes of Koulibaly, Partey and Sancho. And we would now be expecting us to go and smash the shit out of everyone. Instead, we are now looking at the likes of Spurs, Everton, Wolves, Leicester and Leeds with envy. We signed our second choice left back, after Reguilon. And we nearly missed out on him! Then we signed a free agent who nobody else wanted. And two very promising 18 year olds, who won't be making any impact on the first team this season. Lets roll the clock back to the end of last season, when we lost to Sevilla. We needed to sign a top quality right winger, a striker, and a center back with pace. The club have not backed the manager, so to blame Ole for any of this shitshow is a travesty. Dragging this bunch to 3rd was a huge achievement. Imagine what we could have done with a proper structure and football people in charge.

Whether he got the players he wanted or. It. His a rubbish coach. Even if we had Sancho we wouldn’t be challenging

This is true. The squad is not good enough to challenge for any trophies, but equally, it is not so bad that we should be annihilated by Spurs and outplayed by Brighton and Palace.

Ole's job is to make sure that the players are fit and motivated and that they go out onto the pitch with an actual plan. He is failing to do that.

A lot if his biggest supporters as our manager are totally fine with that, that much clear. We could have signed Messi and he wouldn't be expected to challenge yet.

No its not a troll post.
Regardless at the fact he's an ex player and limited manger experience, he riminds me of someone else. Sir Alex ferguson. He had a bad run of games at the start of his magerial career and during too.

The fuuny thing is, prior to 3 games ago everyone was praising Ole for finishing in the Champions League spot. 3 games ago!
God lets sack him and pay £50 million for poch. Let him try and build the team he needs in 2 transfer windows with a sbit board and if he loses 3 games then sack him. We will be back to square one!

Suppose it's easy to say that it's looking like he'll never manage another game in front of a full Old Trafford. No one gets 3 full seasons with Ed.

We sold 1 player all summer with a squad bloated by utter dross. We didn't get a single first choice signing from the list Ole submitted.

We need to make sure Ole gets the support of the fans and turn on the board when it goes to shite.

I can't see him lasting beyond Christmas. I reckon third week of November.

I get so frustrated with him because I want to him to succeed but I have no faith in him to succeed. I do not think he has the brains to do it. Which is really surprising that he was a very good impact sub who says he studies the opposition.
Any top coach would know what he controls and what he cannot control on the pitch. Throw ins, free kicks and corners are what the team can control. The one time we took a good free kick Martial scored. One time the opposition took a good free kick we conceded.
When was the last time, we took a good corner? Look at other teams how they work their corners. Every one of our corners would be headed for Maguire. No variations at all. No near post flicks or pull backs etc. These things must be practised on the training field. There is no good plan. This is the biggest problem with him. Just get rid of Carrick and McKenna and get someone who knows what they are doing. I bet even with Cavanin in the side we will play as if Martial is at CF.

What's the difference between the squad that finished last season and the one that started it ? We have more additions. The squad has gotten better though marginally. So why are the performances worse ?
No one is expecting this team to challenge for league or UCL but they should play to the level they did to finish last season. The squad has talent. Martial, Rashford, Greenword, Bruno, Pogba and now with Cavani and Donny are a talented collection of attacking players. That's a better attacking group than most teams in the league apart from City and Pool.
We need to stop excusing the players bad performances. They are playing like crap and making dumb mistakes. The current players need to play better, plain and simple. Ole needs to start calling these players out because what we have seen is unacceptable.
Woodward has nothing to do with Maguire defensive mistakes or our midfield poor passing. The team has to play better but first the mentality has to change. There has to be a no excuse mindset. Whatever happens with transfers is none of the player's business. They need to concern themselves on the pitch.
The team should be good enough for top 4, last 16 UCL and a cup run. As I mentioned before, a title might be out of reach. None the less they still need to be held accountable to their talent level and the manager needs to demand better from the players. Too many of them are just coasting and using preseason as an excuse

Way to miss my point, which I thought was pretty clearly stated.

Genuinely think he will be fired after first 5 pl games with 4 points, his win rate is barely 50% in , love the player, hate the coach !

You can't say "he reminds me of SAF" and then hint you aren't giving him special treatment. I have no clue how old you are, maybe you actually were a fan during the early years of SAF, but it's a different era. Either you're living in the past or you're comparing him to something you don't know.

Any one's guess when he goes. But the fact remains, regardless of yesterdays drubbing and who we sign or don't sign, the players we have are not being coached to the level needed. There are too many very good players who have lost all ability and confidence that can only be put down to coaching or the lack thereof to the standard that is required. You just have to look at Bruno's performances of late, when he first came in he virtually singlehandedly lifted the team up the league, he is now a shadow of the player we bought. De Gea, Wan Bissaka, Rashford , Martial, Greenwood and even Maguire, who wasn't all that good anyway and definitely not worth a tenth of what we paid, together with Fernandes, all internationals, are now performing like non-league players. The same will happen with all the new signings, the problem is blatantly obvious, the whole coaching team are nowhere near good enough, you just have to look at Everton, Arsenal and God forbid even Lampard at Chelsea all improving and playing some good stuff. It hasn't taken Anchelotti very long to sort out Everton, okay it's early days, but he has got them playing as a team and the players he inherited, good and bad have all bought in to his coaching methods and the results speak volumes.
I don't know who we should bring in, maybe Poch, but one thing is certain, poor Ole is way out of his depth and drifting into ever deeper water, please throw him a life jacket and give him his P45.

Why not hope he turns it around?

I would love him to turn it around. I've flip flopped on Ole as much as anyone in his time here, but every time I think he is turning it around there's a period that makes me question whether he is ever going to be good enough to take us to the levels we strive to reach.

It definitely wasn't. Brighton should have gotten six or more against us and Palace also could have had more. Ole's papering over the cracks has just unfortunately come to an end.

They would have did well to score 6 or more against us from only 5 shots on target.

Ole has moved on and brought in a lot of players. Let's hope he succeeds, otherwise next manager may have to start from scratch again. His previous acquisitions at Cardiff have been meh. The current state of players that he has bought at United is diabolical to say the least. I am now hoping for a decent run in the next 7 games. Drop points against the magpies and pressure becomes huge.

Regarding this topic of the board 'throwing Ole under the bus': If we splashed out the 105m cash to sign Sancho and we still cannot improve our football and results, would Ole then deserve the sack? Just asking this to see where the limit lies in the minds of the 'Ole inners'.
