Potential striker signings (who aren't named Højlund)

We really really suck at selling. Plus with the takeover hanging it makes thing so complicated. Not that easy I'm afraid. We'll see.

Yeah anything to do with sales at this club right now isn't moving at all unfortunately

Hear me out…. Lacazette, put him in alongside a young striker. Shouldn’t cost a great deal and is better than wout

Anybody seen much of Amine Gouiri? I liked the look of him last 2 seasons. Not sure how he performed last season

Watched a little of the France U-21, he's talented but didn't look strong enough for the Prem yet, though I don't watch Ligue 1 much so that's an opinion off of 2 games.

I love watching him play but he just doesn't score enough goals and we really need a forward who will chip in with the 15goals plus as when Rashford's out we're toothless.

Would Iheanacho be a bad signing? Certainly not in my eyes.

Low fee
Prem experiance
Technical ability
Can link play
Decent eye for goal
Has played in high pressing sides (both city and Leicester)
Would be happy with squad rotation

I'd take him as a back-up tbh

I liked him when he played for City. Google say hes 26 so coming up to his best years. Depends what he would cost though. You could see Leicester wanting around £50 mill for him off us and playing hardball.

I still think Toney would be a great addition in Jan if we can get Hojlund now as I think he's really underrated and could make the step up to a bigger club - No idea on price though but pretty sure in Jan he will only have 1.5 years on his contract

A year on his contract remaining should be gettable for 25m or so at best with them in championship if we really want him .

Potentially yes but the noise earlier during the window was he'd be going to Everton for about 15-20 mil. I think we should get in there first or highjack the move once a fee is set (easier said than done).

Yeah surely them being relegated would have brought it down a little bit

Yeah doesn't feel like we have ever had even a passing interest in the guy unless I missed it

I still am at odds that highly paid transfer dept never brings in a rarely heard of player, a rough diamond for the lack of a better word. We seem to always head for the obvious names which most of us could name 95% of the time. What is the point in scouts who most of the time never unearth a high potential before they end up in the like of teams such as RB Salzburg where thereafter you pay a premium. I see Bayern has taken Salzburg sporting director for obvious reasons. Hopefully Ten Hag demands the change to unearth players like Martinez again. I am not saying he done the leg work for Martinez but get the folk in that have shown they can.

Garnacho, Pellistri, Amad, Hannibal, Fernandez all say hi.

Would be right behind this.

How is his injury record? Always thought he was a bit injury prone but could be wrong.

Seems to score in gluts as well, blows got and cold but is a very good player for sure.

Currently Kane has 1 year on his contract, Toney has 2 years...so next summer United could try to pick one of them up.

Ferguson after another season in the Brighton first team could be an option next summer also.

I believe United will get Hojlund to keep EtH happy, but next summer might have more viable options for the CF position.

Can also knock a bit off Osimhen price with another year gone on contract, however we still need to bring someone in this summer whatever the situations of Kane/Toney

These are kids who so far only one has made any impact into the team. If your quoting these as 5 successes well you totally missing my point.

I can't believe I'm saying this but hear me out - if Lukaku is available for €35mn (think this was the fee Inter were going to pay), is it likely that we would find any striker better than him for that fee? He frustrated me no end in his spell with us but he had absolutely no service. We have much better creative options now so is it as ridiculous as it seems?

Probably more ridiculous than it seems.

I'm all for Toney next summer once we have rid of Martial but we need a striker here and now and that will come with a big fee.

The odds are its the Danish kid but if not him then god knows who, I'd have gone for Abraham but he's had a terrible injury.

The Lukaku we signed in 2017 would've had a much better chance of making it at United in this current team but moving for him now would be a huge mistake.

Lukaku's weak mentality has always held him back from performing at the very top level but the failed Chelsea stint, his injury problems of the last couple of years and him being the wrong age profile anyway are all more than enough reason to steer well clear.

Maybe we could get him in January
