I would like to see a more flexible number 9 in our team like you see with city, Liverpool and even Chelsea look better when they have havertz instead of lukaku up top. Looking back in the period of the 2000's, united looked great in terms of our attacking play when we had a more versatile attack of tevez, rooney and ronaldo.

I think Richarlison is a very good shout. I suppose in many ways it comes down to how we intend to play. Industrious mobile forwards would be my preferred option. Especially if they can also play and link up with the likes Sancho andwhomever will play off the right.
Actually a consistent, can be arsed running version of Martial would be perfect.
Throughout my time England had produced some magnificent strikers. Shearer was in my opinion one of the finest strikers of his generation but also I also liked the likes of Les Ferdinand whom I could see him doing well with him. However I was never bought with Harry Kane. I see him constantly vanishing against a strong opposition.
I think he is a fantastic striker, one of the very best currently but with his age, wages, fee and injury record, he will be too much of a risk.
He loved playing with Ronaldo aswell. They worked very well together. I’d love him here. He’s class.

No, the midfield was the problem last season. Whenever the trio Dybala Chiesa and Ronaldo played together Juventus looked very threatening going forward.
The year before that Dybala and Ronaldo played very well together and Dybala scored 17 goals despite Ronaldo being the main finisher (30+ goals for him) Dybala was named player of the season, whatever that means.
But I think Ronaldo was part of the overall problem since he doesn't provide much defensively... And there were no players really capable of compensating for him.

Kane is more than viable for our budget, and we’d buy him without hesitation for 100+ if he wasn’t 30. If we felt Felix was a top bracket striker to lead us for years, spending 100+ wouldn’t be the issue. It’s the going rate.
Personally, really dont get the hype about JOnathan DAvid. Im intrigued to see how he does where ever he moves, personally hoep it isnt here, in a dearth of quality young strikers at the moment, hed be bottom of the list for me.
I remember people raving about Timo Werner, totally differnt player, but he was way overhyped, great pace and mvoement and that was it for me. Im not surprised at all how he has struggled at Chelsea. I dont think David will make waves if he moves to a big club personally
Well its hypathetical as we dont even know what our budget is. But with potential exits and first eleven upgrades needed, in an ideal world a new gk competition, cb, rb, 2xcm, rw, cf would all be coming.
Now I dont expect that to happen in one window, but we certainly need an absoltue bare minimum of 4 which isnt enough, gotta be 5 for me minimum. Whatever our budget is, if this is the case £100m out of that budget on one player is a huge dent.
How is it the going rate though? Barely been a transfer over £100m, ironically he is one of them, and the only striker at that rate for five years and we have never spent close to £100m as of yet either and I guarantee we dotn this summer either

David is exactly the kind of player who could thrive in a higher intensity pressing side. So we’ll be nowhere near him and will spend all summer chasing Kane.
Even I am a Canadian I have to say David is still quite rough and need to be polish further for the big club. I will be really happy for him if he get the move of course.

He’s got all the attributes needed to work really well in a high press. He wouldn’t be starting at United anyway next season. He’d get a season to develop before we’d be losing Ronaldo.
Looked at David's numbers. Doesn't score enough. That's what I judge forwards off first. Not enough assists either. Moved from Belgium to France and his numbers dipped too much for me.
Is there no forward under 25 other than Haaland who's been putting up 20+ goals for at least 2 straight seasons?

If you look at the system he’s playing in though it’s not gettitng loads of chances.
13 goals only 2 behind Mbappe who I think we all rate quite highly. David in a PSG side would absolutely have at least 2 more goals.
I’ve followed him the last 2 seasons really closely and I personally think he’s moving in the summer and he’ll do really well wherever he goes. He’s played well despite moves at a young age has adapted to each league as he’s progressed and he’s only 22.
He’s a really quality young player and is brilliant in the press. His goalscoring record is really good for someone so young and he has all the physical attributes needed to do well in the PL.

In fact you won’t find a player younger than him that’s scored more in the top 5 leagues apart from the likes of Haaland and Mbappe who would be available to transfer.
I think he really suffers from two stigma French league and being Canadian. If he were a young French forward in Ligue 1 he’d be lauded as a really hot prospect.

I have no doubt he's a good prospect. Wasn't saying that he wasn't. Just was looking for him to dominate like Haaland did.

But he’s simply not in a side yet capable of that domination despite that he still managed to win Ligue 1 last season… He even got 3 goals in 8 in the champions league.
He knows how to win, he’s young, he presses and he’s scored wherever he’s moved to. In a more dominant side he’d have a field day. I honestly don’t see anyone significantly better around his age bracket that we could realistically attract.

It’s so obvious watching us how much we miss a genuine unpredictable presence up front. It’s just a giant hole in this team. Ronaldo smacking one in from 25/30 yards v spurs after a good touch to get it out of his feet? We usually just over produce and lose the ball on those kind of moves. I also like elanga but I think his ceiling is squad/system player at a big club.
Massively agree with this. Think there's clearly a bias, when there's a dearth of top class strikers and he's not in the mix of most people's ideal striker list. Got to be some reason he's not rated as highly as Isak, Schick, etc
I would personally prefer Darwin Nunez to Jonathan David. I think he has a higher ceiling than David. 27 goals this season and a promising performance in the CL is a sell for me.
