I didn't see the game live but I managed to avoid the result all day before seeing the game this evening, why did we suddenly use 3-5-2? and why play Matic and Fellaini when we are using 3 CB's? and why play McTominay over Bailly in a position he's never played at senior level before? Such a weird selection in general and then the performance was atrocious.

I haven't read the player threads and I am sure Pogba, Martial, Lukaku, Lindelof etc....will be getting shitcanned by the usual suspects but it should be pretty obvious that the team is done with Mourinho, the morale in that side looked rock bottom to me, very much like the games in season 3 at Chelsea the second time around.

feck knows why or what he does anymore. Everyone was pretty shit barring a bit of an effort from Young and later Rashford. Played like we were protesting. Came up with some bile about why he played Martial instead of Alexis. Apparently because people wanted for many months, so he chose this opportune moment to prove a point. Some other tosh about how he has no issues with our attitude and then praised west ham’s attitude. Subbed Martial, Pogba (admittedly they were bad) with Mata and Fred who were lost. It’s all a bit end of days.

A positive from the game: I enjoyed watching west ham. Very good football

A lot if it felt like he almost sabotaged things to prove some kind of point that exists mostly in his head.

The inevitability about the result was the most depressing thing today. As soon as West Ham scored i just shrugged my shoulders and laughed. The whole thing is so so fecking predictable at this point. Nearly every team we come up against outplay us. If that isn't the most damning thing you can say about our manager, i don't know what is.

Is it true the only player out of the 14 not to go over to our fans at the end was Pogba?
Apparently the fans booed him off when he was subbed. I don't know but maybe someone can confirm this and whether he went over or not?

No he's not. I've seen him being criticized everywhere. He did have surgery after the WC though tbf, I think he came back way too quick.

I’m talking from Jose. Always plays, rarely subbed. No negative comments. If his not ready don’t play him.

There's a video of Shaw giving his jersey to a young fan and holding his hands up apologetically to the fans at the end, so no.

He looked great at Juve too.. The reason why we paid so much to bring him back. Not saying he is perfect or blameless. But the manager isn't getting the best out of him, just like he isn't getting the best out of the rest 9 signings that he made.

Put him back at Juve or at Barca he will be a ballon do’r winner because there he can play for one of only 3 teams that are any good in the league he can then look a world class talent with plenty of time and space to do his Cruyff turns etc but he is way out of his depth in the prem to fast and too aggressive for him no matter who our manage4 is Pogba is massively overrated

Full credit to the Hammers. They played great football. I don't understand how they were so poor to start off the year. But Us??? WTF was the strategy? right from kick off they seemed to be fine to stay back and try to soak up the pressure as if they were playing Barca!! The craziest thing about Jose is that his teams are always accused of playing boring but competently defensive football, yet we cannot defend if our lives depended on it. The United defense has been lazy, inept and uncaring for the last couple of years. Today combine that with ball watching and we made West Ham look like City. A truly pathetic performance. Jose has to go, its over!

Jose has to go no doubt but we'll still have problems, we need a more fundamental change at the club.

The squad is full of mediocre players minus a few good/great players (De Gea, Pogba, Lukaku, etc). Every time we attacked, it was Lukaku plus two versus like six West Ham defenders. We surely don’t attack as a team and we can’t defend as a team. Getting split on the third goal is the epitome of the lack of communication/positional understanding of our defensive players today. We are absolutely atrocious...

I was at a wedding so missed this although the Wolves supporters there were keen to tell me what happened. Had a text later from my son who was in a pub where more Wolves supporters were loudly celebrating our demise.

No balance, Players out of position. All the managers Fault

I just can't get over how fecking easy it seems to be playing against us, it looks like every team we face are playing FIFA on easy mode while we go out drunk and have 2 players missing from the line up. I'm not asking us to play like Bayern or Real but we should at least be able to play almost as good as West Ham, no?

Yeah there is something to strive for.

To me this is a sackable offence on it's own. He is putting the club a risk for a few 'told you so' moments. Disgusting.
And he will keep doing it, which is why we need him out now. We really could slip much further down the table.

I'm not surprised he did this, it's just the way he is. Happy most fans are seeing through him.

This...I couldn't agree more.

I was there. Rashford and Shaw came over. Mourhino straight down the tunnel as was Matic. We got a token half way line from a few players but only Shaw and Rashford actually came the whole way over to hand their shirts over to kids. Cowards the rest of them.

He wasn't booed, we cheered waheyyyy ironically followed by pockets of abuse calling him a lazy cnut which he was. Fed up with his slapped arse attitude. Desire! pogba you haircut nonce.

He absolutely did not come anywhere near us as he hardly ever does at any game the fecking shithouse haircut wanker

Why should he come over if he's getting abuse from fans?

It is a good job the former Argentinian manager Daniel Passarella isn't in charge of the squad. He famously fell out with many of the Argentinian squad banning long hair, earrings and homosexuals in his squad, leading to disputes with several players.

Calm down. :D

Having given myself some time to cool off (it didn't work!), while I wouldn't particularly miss Jose if he were to go, the real blame lies with the players. Sorry, but they don't get to choose who there boss is (I'd have changed mine more than once over a 40-year working life) and purposely playing badly (if this is happening) should result in immediate sacking. Who is to blame for the mess? Well Pogba would be more likely to win my heart and mind over had he played well for more than those 15 minutes at City last season and a (very very) few other occasions. He is nowhere near world class as far as I am concerned.... and his attitude could not be further from world class.

Sanchez has also hardly had a good game since joining us. Matic too is nowhere near the player he was a Chelsea.

By way of comparison, look at how Beckham reacted when he got into an argument with SAF. Star quality, both in performances and behaviour. To this day, he has not gone to the papers with his side of the story or cried and felt sorry for himself.

Where Jose must take some blame is the players he's brought in have not been up to United standard and he hasn't found anyone better in the club so goes on playing them. And for the fact that he doens't seem to have a Plan B.

There's needs to be a huge clear out of the deadwood: Young, Jones, Smalling, Herrera, (maybe Lindelof although I still think he can come good) are not up to standard. Lingard has gone off the boil and Martial is a joke in my opinion. Mata isn't the player he once was either. Look at it this way: would any of those guys get into the Chelsea, Liverpool or City side? Would they even make it into a match-day squad?

Frankly, the only guy who seems to love the shirt at the moment is fellaini, which says a lot. Of course, DDG should stay too -- although I have no idea why he would want to...

I said it before the season started: the club is in a real mess. Real trouble is looming.

To finish off, returning to Jose: if we were to lose to Valencia and newcastle (they are truly rubbish), I think he'd be done. There would be no way back for him and I think the board would have to act

Is it true the fans are fishing for absolutely anything to push Pogba out of the club right now?

I am more concerned with the club and its lack of structure and the fans and their lack of objectivity than anything else going on at this club :(
Pushing him out the club? He’s doing a fine job of that himself.

Lots of great comments in here. Good read.

I don't watch basketball but i'm aware of one term that fits this situation: Garbage Time.

Basically the time in the game where there's no chance of winning, none at all, and the players basically don't give a shit and nobody does much to attack or defend. We should have already sacked Mourinho and what you are now witnessing is Manchester United Garbage Time by the manager and the players.

Woody? Woody? You there?

Or maybe, looking at over two years of performances that even in better times rarely hit the highs of quality football, and the amount of players not performing well enough, we should look above them. Even when Mourinho's position was stronger we weren't good enough, we didn't get enough out of those players. Or, just as importanly, turned a bunch of talents into a team.

Now things have just become toxic - Mourinho's doing since the summer - and the reality of the matter is a sports team would not function well in such atmosphere. When it's a bunch of players who already underformed and never gelled into a team, you get midtable form. At best.
